mkthomp, JD has posted 2 of my sour dough recipes,  ask for help if you need it.   It is terrific weather for making sour dough.

 mkthomp,             the starter is the culture that is used,  instead of yeast,  to  allow the flour and water to create gas and for the mixture to expand and double.  Do you have a culture/starter.?  Have you made bread using yeast ?

hi yes have used yeast but not sure what your starter is ? ie is it flour and water and left to ferment?

Yes,  that is right but a little more difficult than it sounds.
