Title: Help me out with this riddle!!
Post by: Caroline J on September 07, 2010, 03:57:28 am
Ok, so I didn't get a chance to make everything on my menu plan last week, but I had shopped for all the ingredients for each dish.  Now, here's the riddle.  I bought fresh spinach and Greek yoghurt for a recipe, but now I cannot for the life of me think what it was  :-)).

So, do the ingredients ring any bells?  It would definitely be a recipe from the forum or a TMX cookbook, but a forum search hasn't helped, nor has a look through my cookbooks.

Anyone?  Or, can anyone suggest something for me to make with these ingredients?!

My address for the prize is ............................. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Join the club CJ, we all do that but I now write the recipe alongside my ingredient list and put the recipe on top of the microwave amongst the other recipes I am planning to do soon.

Yep, am making some changes- will not let that happen again!  I do not even recall deciding to make it, but I do remember the spinach was optional, so that must have been it!!  Am losing my mind...

This could be a fun game. We could look in the fridge or pantry, post the ingredients we have and get someone else to tell us a good recipe using the ingredients. It’d almost be like a mystery box challenge hahaha.  :o :o :o

Glad you found your recipe CJ!

Mmmmm. Perhaps we could simply ask someone to select a set of ingredients (MM or Thermomixer?????) and we could go from there.  Participation would be entirely voluntary.
Great idea.

what i have done in the past when looking for something is just key in the word or phrase that I know eg self saucing pudding, in the topic where I think it will eg.  'Desserts'. Results of your search will be defined. You could do the same for something specific like ingredients eg. spinach in 'Mains" and if it was a forum recipe that you were after, results of your search will come up and you just click on the one you want.

if you had a surplus of spinach or abit leftover that you were wanting to use up, you could also search under soups or dips even.

:D Caroline J, so funny! I buy ingredients thinking I'm going to make something and then don't get time to do so!
So glad that I know have coriander and lemongrass growing in my garden as that's something that usually rots in the bottom of my fridge.

I like Nelleraye's idea of a game.

Oooh pick me!  Pick me!!

I do that too....  :-[

Waaaaay too often... then my 15yo will present an ingredient to me and ask what did I need it for... and I can't remember... so he uses it.  Then of course, I will remember.  :-))

 :D

Good thinking nelleraye - hopefully the TMX Australia team will have it in their new website.

It exists in other countries.  Here is the Italian version: What's in the fridge? (http://www.ricettario-bimby.it/52/funzione_frigerivero.html)

A link to an example of what you get if you type in eggs, milk and sugar  (in Italian) Results of search (http://www.ricettario-bimby.it/fridgesearch/all?ingcontains=uova+latte+zucchero&ingremove=Inserisci+qui+gli+ingredienti+che+la+ricetta+non+deve+contenere)

I could play around with that site all day Thermomixer - so when is H.O. launching this new website you just mentioned?

I think I am going to have to enrol for Italian classes. DD is refreshing her Japanese, so I'll have to do Italian. Maybe I could print them off and get an Italian friend to translate for me.

Just click on the translate button Cookie and it does it for you.  A little hard to decypher still but as we now know basically what we are doing, I'm pretty sure you would work it out.  I printed out 2 recipes then decided I wasn't going to waste my whole day on the site  :-)) :-)) I may revisit it when our forum is quiet.

Help needed here please.  Do I just click on the link here?  If so where will I find the translate button?

Or do I type in the site on google?

It's on the 4th line from the top on my computer (I imagine they are all the same) and just off centre to the right next to ABC check.  Mine automatically changes to English.

Thanks Judy.  DD has lots of stuff hidden on this computer. I think I'll fire mine up and try there.

I met Mandy Marais from HO on Tuesday and it should have been launched in April - at their Thermofest in Singapore, but it has been delayed .  :( :(

Not sure when & not sure if it will be this format.
