Title: Magic Cooking Products
Post by: achookwoman on September 08, 2010, 04:37:42 am
Magic Cooking Products
I recently bought a pack of tin liners. The pack contained 1 square tin liner, 1 round tin , 1 loaf tin liner and 6 muffin pan liners. They cost about $30. They are similar to tray liners that I have been using for about 15 years. I think they are well worth the investment. I have bought several packs and will split them up and give to people will individual needs. Contact Julie on 0438 7768 99

I was going to ask the same question as CP63 - you certainly find some interesting things in your travels Chookie. How long are they expected to last?

They look like silicon liners. I bought a sheet some time back, but I love the muffin liners. Thanks chookie, I'll give her a ring!

How interesting. Good investment especially for those old and dear to us pot and pans.

For more info. Google Magic Cooking Products.   I phoned the company and they contacted the lady that I bought the 1st. set from.  She rang me and I ordered over the phone .  I will be paying postage,  very little as they are light.  They sell other things but they didn't interest me.   They are very easy to clean.  I wipe them mostly with a damp cloth,  and about every 3rd.  time wash them in the sink with soapy water,  then dry them with a tea towel. As I have said I have had mine for about 15 years, could be longer.  They are excellent in the cast iron casseroles, and tins when cooking bread.  See Rustic Bread from the Agrarian Kitchen.  This loaf was cooked in the large casserole with the round liner.  The site answers most questions.  I think the Bakers Pack is good value as I have paid $14 for 1 sheet from the kitchen shop. I have no interest in the company, it is just that I though it would interest many forum members as they are having problems with bread sticking.

i have a cookie sheet, and i bought an oven sheet as well to protect my new oven from spillages. laid it out nicely on the bottom of the oven and it burnt to it! warning: i found out later when i showed the shop it is not suitable for ovens with an element on the bottom  :'(  (PS. not sure of brand name tho)

CP63,  this crowd also make them for the BBQ.  I also wondered how much heat they would stand.

We have one for our BBQ.  It is really good, especially for fish.

Is everyone still happy with their sheets?  I'm thinking of asking for some for Christmas.   :D

I have them Molly and love them - so quick to line things and saves using so much baking paper.  I use mine all the time and if there is anyone here when I take something out of the oven, they all want to know what they are  ;)

If any one has access to Adli stores they have them occasionally at really great prices.
I buy up heaps of toasted sandwich bags as one thing GS eats is toasted cheese sandwiches.
With these just make the sandwich , pop it in the bag and toast as you would a slice of bread.

They also have the sheets of the stuff and they are great in the frypan etc.

I am pretty rough on mine but I get about a year out of them in the frying pan, cake tins. and roasting dish.
Just cut to basic sizes to fit.

I have even put them into the washing machine with the teatowels after giving a good rinse beforehand. :-[

I have gotten rid of my frypan and sandwich maker when they broke down and the one thing we used both for was toasted sandwiches. Am I led to believe that we can still do these in the normal toaster if we have a magic bag? ie. cheese, ham, tomato

Yes CP,  when I bought my first pockets, the lady said I could use then for all manner of things, fish fingers and to reheat small items that would fit the toaster.  Judy has used hers to reheat pork crackling.

I've just been to the site and realised I have a sheet of this stuff in my cupboard - cannot even remember where or when I got it!  I am a little reluctant to use it because there doesn't seem to be any information on how safe it is, although the site says that it is FDA approved.  I think they also approved non-stick cookware and I have heard that there are concerns regarding the safety of many of these surfaces as well.  Got to admit, I am sorely tempted to use the stuff but I think DH will refuse to eat anything I made that was cooked on it until he is convinced of its safety for food preparation (he can be very stubborn, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry, even if it is frustrating!).

We have used ours for fish fingers and they were okay.  Not as good as oven fried tho.
I think from Aldi they were about $2.50 for a pair of bags and $3.00 for the oven sheet.
