This was amazing. Have never seen fresh cod around so when I found it in Woolworths yesterday I grabbed 3 pieces (they called it Ribaldo fillets but had cod in brackets). Only used 1 piece for this recipe, did half quantity. You could use barramundi or other fish as long as it is 3-4cm thick. I used my zester as we prefer it very fine and didn't have any aniseeds so crushed up some fennel seeds and used that instead. Are aniseeds just crushed up star anise or are they something completely different? Added some pumpkin and carrot to the potatoes in the steaming basket.
5/5 from both of us and nice enough to serve up to visitors.

I was wondering if I could use other fish with this sauce. I have never seen cod in the shops here and am going to try with hake or butterfish this weekend.

This sounds interesting. I need some freshly caught cod to do it, but will have to wait until next May.

Good one JD
Fennel seeds are a perfect substitute. The aniseed they are talking about is similar size & come from a plant like fennel

not star anise
