Title: greetings from sunny Malaysia
Post by: jflim on October 23, 2010, 01:31:10 pm

Hello everyone,

I started using the TMix since may this year. A fan of cooking from scratch, was quite adverse to using my mum's unit but eventually was won over by its very usefullness, time saving and best of all, less items to wash up!  :D

I was googling for playdough made in TMix and found this forum. I am glad to be here.  :)

I hope I get this message in the right place otherwise my apologies to our administrator if it ends up elsewhere.
Have a great weekend everyone. :)

Welcome JFlim. It's great that you found us. We all love the reduced washing up - although I am still a very messy cook  ;). Happy cooking

Hi JFLim!

The tmx is great, isn't it?
Have you tried making kaya in it yet? If you have, I'd love to hear about your experience.

Welcome!

Hi,
Thank you all for your warm welcome. Yes I have made kaya in it several times but am not really satisfied with end results even though many say it's good. Need to perfect it first.
Nasi goreng....nope but I did try stir fried vermicelli. Not bad. I will post the kaya recipe if you like but i believe it's suppose to be in the recipe side right?
SHould I let you know here when i do it? :)

Hi JFLim, welcome to the forum.  As you can tell from the postings in your welcome thread, we love asian recipes and will be happy to received any you wish to post.   Just post in the appropriate recipe section, they will show up in our 'unread threads' so will be easy enough to find.  I'm glad you found us and I'm sure that feeling will be reciprocated.

Welcome JFLim - there must be a few TMXs sold in Malaysia now.  Does Florence Tan use one ;) ??

Hahaha! I don't know about Florence Tan using one but I can check and if she doesn't, I'll introduce her to it. ;)

I think it's getting popular here but the biggest stumbling block is the price. Even when you tell them it can do a lot of what other specific machines can do, you'll still hear excuses about how their blenders etc are easier and smaller.....
Those who do attend a few demos will start to see the beauty of this machine. Took my mum 3 demos to say yes. Took me a few months testing it out before I actually appreciated it. Now I recommend it to friends and family. Said I could demo for them first but yet to anyway. :)

One thing about it is, it comes with a recipe book, localised for this region, more Asian recipes and the company that brings it into Malaysia does not have as many recipes books as in Australia. There's the Varoma Steam book and a Taiwanese based receipe book in Mandarin only.

I convinced my cousin of this machine's goodness and she went back to Perth, got in touch with a consultant and is now a proud owner. May i introduce her to this forum please?

My apologies for babbling here but am touched by your warm welcome. Been taking pics of recent cooking and will post them soon as I figure how to get the pics in.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Hi Trudy,

Well the first one will be a simple dish found in almost every Chinese home in Malaysia. Nyonya dishes... not yet. And cookie1, thank you. Will let her know later. :)
