Does anyone know anywhere in the hills district of Sydney where you can get fresh yeast. No Bakers Delights will sell it to me!!
-
I u se dried but have you tried a healthfood store or a whole foods store they would have it, the whole foods store i used to go to in Perth sold it.

Try Brumbys. You have to make friends with the owner and ask nicely for just a small amount of say 100 gms. Tell them you are having a hard time sourcing it.

seems for people in Syd getting fresh yeast is tricky was just reading this http://abstractgourmet.com/2006/02/where-to-buy-fresh-yeast/ and that gave a few places to try one in randwick and one in chatswood surely there are other places- it seems it easier to buy gold ;)

Would love to know too.
There is a Brumby's in Thornleigh - maybe they would do it?

I think the deli in Castle Towers sells it. I remember seeing a sign there recently.

On a mission now - i will report back.

Don't do what I did Mel, buy the last little piece of a block - it was obviously past it's use by date & didn't work. Make sure they are cutting you a piece from a nice, big block that has not long been opened.

In case anyone is in the Hills District, you can buy fresh yeast from the deli at Castle Towers

I can get this from Baker's Delight North Sydney in the morning as the bakers still there.
