If the oreo cake bites are too much chocolate http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4880.0........ then this is a nice alternative.
The orange flavour really comes through.

JAFFA CAKE BITES
1 x 250g packet of Arnotts orange slice biscuits
85g cream cheese, softened to room temp and cubed.
Place biscuits into jug, and chop for 6 seconds, speed 6.
Add in the softened cubed cream cheese, and set lid to locked lid position, and set to :: setting for 2 minutes, 30 seconds.
Mix will come together like dough.
Roll tablespoon amounts into balls, place on a plate lined with greaseproof paper, and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
Shape as wished, and taking a couple out at time, dip into melted chocolate and decorate.

Makes around 13-15 bites.

They look great Maddy. Looks like you can use any cream type biscuit then.

It is the case I think Judy. As long as they have a cream middle.
Will cruise the biscuit aisle next time, and see what else I can use. A lemon version could be nice too.
Basically use 1/3 cream cheese amount, to the gram amount on packet.

Oh golly, I think I am being tempted here. I will try to be strong.

Hi Maddy,
After resisting these cake pops for weeks - I finally bought a Bakerella book and the cake pop mould and will be soon set to go! All your fault ;) ;)
Quick question though - after you have dipped them in chocolate, what do you use for the different colours on top? ie the yellow and white tops on the jaffa ones. Is that melted chocolate with food colouring, or is it coloured icing?
Thanks for the inspiration!

Have fun with them Karen!
For the coloured chocolate, you can buy them already coloured (wilton brand), or use specific powdered/liquid candy colourings to mix in. They are oil based.
You CANNOT use regular food colouring (it's water based) used for cakes.....it will spoil the chocolate
To thin your chocolate (better for dipping).....add 1-2 Tbsp. melted copha.
Also, if dipping it in, don't move it around in chocolate, let it submerge gently until covered, then lightly wriggle off the excess.

Thanks for the hints maddy! All I have to do now is wait for the postman to arrive with my parcel of goodies ;D
And maybe cruise the bakerella blog and dream for a few days ....
