hi evryone,
im sorry if this is the wrong place to post this..... today for lunch i made a chicken and veg soup using chicken drumsticks.... omg it was sooooooooo good lol....
because i jammed so many veggies into the tm there wasnt enough room for the drumsticks. i thort it might be a good idea to use the varoma and steam the the drumsticks at the same time as the veggies cooked away nicely. in the end it all worked out great but it took forever to steam them. i ended pulling the meat off and throwing the chicken meat in the tm to finish cooking them thru..... is there a better/quicker way to do it.... maybe start steaming the chicken first??

What temperature did you use to cook your soup? The steaming will only work on the varoma temperature. If the soup is bubbling away on the varoma temperature I would think that drumsticks would probably take 25-30 minutes to cook. :)

If you were using Judydawn's chicken soup recipe, I have only ever done this with already cooked chicken meat ie leftover roast chicken meat. Alternatively, I have used chopped up chicken thigh meat. I have never tried whole chicken drumsticks in the TM yet, the only chicken meat with bones that i have tried in the TM so far are the chicken honey soy nibbles recipe that is also on this forum. I just find that after putting in all the vegies and everything else I want to go into the soup, I don't have room for the drumsticks, as per the recipe, so that's why I just use meat on it's own. I also chuck in pasta towards the end, so I also have to allow room for the pasta to swell when cooked.

the capacity of the tm would be my only gripe with my new friend.... thats why i tried to do the drumsticks the the varoma thing, and the fact that i love the flavour of boney meat... it wasnt judydawns recipe, just something i made up as i went!!
