.... with my beautiful new Thermomix.
After reading in Olive Magazine that it was the food editor's ideal Christmas present, I researched and put one on my own list for Santa. I was *delighted* to receive TM31 on Christmas Day!
I have enjoyed using it and have so far used it to make...
Soup (it was a tomato chutney, but I got a little over-zealous with the speed control!!)
Zabaglione
Meringues
Bearnaise Sauce
White Sauce
It has been really superb and I don't think that I could be more impressed!
I am 26 years of age and live in London with my husband and our Chihuahua. I have always been a keen cook and love gadgets and toys for my kitchen! As a day job, I trained as an accountant, but I have taken a break from work to write my first crime novel. Being at home is also the perfect excuse to spend too much time on Twitter, lying in the bath and - now - playing with my Thermomix...
I guess I'm on here because I want to meet people who are similarly passionate about food, and also to find recipe ideas. I'm especially keen to learn some healthier recipes for the TM31 as - like a lot of others, I'm sure - I want to lose my Christmas (and the rest ;-) ) weight!
Can't wait to get to know you all better...
Happy new year!
Jessica

Hi Jessica and welcome to the forum. What a great Chrissie present. I'm glad you have lots of time now to get to know your TM and impress your husband with great meals - keep warm!!!!
-
Hello Jessica, thrilled you have joined us on the forum. I am a newbie also but love welcoming newbies also as it mean't alot to me to meet everyone. I have a thought to combine 2 of your loves........might there be room in your novel to mention the tmx, killing 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak, just don't poison anyone, I'm giving too much away aren't I???????? :o :-\ ;)
I look forward to catching up again! Love Jenny

Dear Jessica--I'm happy that you are in love with TMX, as I am. I first saw TMX at the London "Food and Drink" show in November and could hardly wait to get home to Canada to see if they were available here, which they were and so I bought one and have had it since the end of November--have made: soup stock, chicken, beef and veggie. Also, have made cauliflower, leek and potato and refrigerator soups--all delicious, black olive, feta, and whole wheat breads. The tapenade and creton were over the top. The creton recipe is in a site called "Super Kitchen machine", and it's a French Canadian meat spread that is very good--read about it on the "Super Kitchen Machine" site. Hope this motivates you. Also, got back to Canada before the snow hit London.

Hello and Welcome Jessica. You will find lots of great recipes on here and just a reminder; Australian tablespoons = 20ml (4 tsp) compared with English ones, 15ml (3 tsp). ;D

Hi Jessica, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are enjoying yourself with your TMX and I was impressed with some of the first things you made - 3 of them usually cause problems for people but you obviously had great success. The saying is that all savoury mess ups can be turned to soup (you certainly proved that theory correct) and all sweet failures into ice-cream. The girls have also been having discussions lately on what type of books they like to read and crime novels are right up there on their list. Good luck with the book and have fun with your TMX.

Welcome Jessica. Time off to write a crime novel. how marvellous. How is it coming along? Do you set part of the day side to write?
-
welcome Jessica, this is a great forum for inspiration on giving your TM a good workout. this is a lousy forum if you want to lose weight ;D :-*
-
Thanks everyone for the lovely welcome!! I love it here already... ;D ;D
I will look at all your recommended recipes, and yes, CreamPuff63, the diet does appear to be out of the window :D
It is fun being a writer - I try to dedicate as much of my day as possible to writing, although finding it hard to get back to 'work' post-Christmas! The idea of sitting down and doing some writing is not a good one... But today is the day, so I shall just crack on. (While thinking of the wonders I can cook up in my TM!!).
Thank you for the note on tablespoons, JulieO. I would just like to say that that is so random! We have nuclear weapons, yet as a planet we can't standardise a tablespoon measurement ;) ;D
