its my daughter's 3rd birthday next week and we are having a morning tea - looking for quick, easy, foolproof and sure-fire hits please!!

Pikelets
Fruit skewers on paddle pops
Watermelon cut outs using biscuit cutters
Dip with veggie sticks,
Vegetarian sausage rolls cydi omeara - would have to make sure none of the children had nut allergies
Little round crackers with cream cheese or dip on them then little sultanas and veggie bits to make faces
Popcorn
Ginger bread biscuits
Hmmmm that is all I can think of at the moment mind you we have only ever had family birthday parties.

My daughter's 3rd birthday was at the end of last year (morning tea too)-we have to be additive free but it's easier for a party than you'd think (especially with a thermomix) and the other children didn't get hypo either-a welcome surprise for most of the parents :)
We had fairy bread (basic bread recipe with the natural sprinkles from woolies), pizzas (cut into small pieces-magheritta & bianca), sausage rolls with the EDC puff pastry recipe and a basic mince filling, fruit platter, honey crackles and the birthday cake. Oh, and a bowl of plain kettle chips too. It was enough choice for the children without going overboard and the parents all found enough to munch on too. My children had a ball, all they seemed to do was eat because for once at a party it was all up for grabs (rather than having a snack packed from home-poor little critters!)
We ate first, then parce the parcel, muscial statues and a parachute game, cake, then home again. I've been to too many parties that are squashed full of games and activities and for us, this was the perfect balance. Have fun!!

As well as what was mentioned below I find that these have been a hit with my kids and friends. It always depended on the theme and then we just renamed the food to suit the theme.
meatballs
chicken balls
apricot balls
punch (soda water, citrus, syrup - the forum has heaps of variety)
boilded eggs - 1/2ed
new potatoes
pizza
sushi
All finger foods, but we make a little table from bricks and plywood and all the kids sat down to eat a the same time at this age. They seemed to really enjoy sitting a specially decorated table with their own place setting.
Regardless of the food, all kids love parties. Have fun

I have made large rectangular pizzas and sliced them up to finger food size portions. The chocolate chip cookies from the EDC always go down well, except I don't use any nuts in them. The chicken meatballs are always a hit. In fact, any meatballs seem to be good! Compulsory to do cupcakes or the bimby chocolate cake. I always do some dips ie hommous with veggie sticks. There's so many recipes to potentially use in the books or on the forum. Depends on what your kids and their friends enjoy!

Meatballs, cakes etc can all be prepared in advance and frozen. Pizza bases can be almost fully cooked (without the toppings) and frozen too. :)
