Title: Burnt base twice in a row
Post by: tarasis on January 24, 2011, 02:06:28 pm
Hi guys,

Mildly concerned that somehow I've burnt the base of the bowl twice in a row, despite following the steps to a T (yesterday Chicken Stock and this afternoon Pizza Sauce (which was fine last time)). Basically it's towards the outer edges of the base, it cleans easily enough (with slight stains) but I'm more concerned that it did burn.

Slightly worried I'm might have somehow damaged my wife's toy :/

The only time I have had sticking or a stubborn spot is when I haven't cleaned properly between recipes. For example made sushi vinegar and then cooked sushi rice and found it stuck or heated milk for frothing and cooked something afterwards and got a sticky spot. I suggest washing it well or doing the vinegar wash and then going again. If that doesn't work I use the scotch Brits pads that are really fine and pull apart easily. I pull a little bit off and then use that to clean the base of the bowl :) HTH

Was your speed  high enough to keep the contents moving?

Ditto to that. Been there done that. Just up the speed a bit.

Ditto also.  I never use soft speed - always 1-2. I like to see things moving.
