Good Afternoon Fellow Kitchen Magicians!
I'm not sure whether my post is in the right place ???. I'm writing to introduce myself as a TM owner of three months. I purchased after attending a demo at my daughter's home. I thought my new "robot" would make my life easier and improve my eating habits and it has to a small degree. My daughter unfortunately hasn't experimented greatly with her TM due to the fact that she is expecting twins and has suffered severe nausea but she is improving now. Both of us took our TM's on holiday and we had a few experimental projects but neither of us is an expert by any means. So thank you so much for this website. I have sampled a few recipes from here and hope to be able to contribute more in the future.
Just a bit more about me - I live alone, run my own business, have three children, five grandchildren and two more on the way. I'm overweight and tend to snack on the wrong foods because I'm too lazy to have healthy snacks available so with some help from my new friends here I hope to pick up some tips.
Lastly I have a pear tree in the backyard which is fully laden with fruit and would welcome any ideas to use them up.
Thanks again for having me here

Welcome Nannie Jannie. You are in the right spot, so are doing very well, Use the recipes you want and ask questions. Someone will help. Very friendly bunch here.

Hi Nannie Jannie, great that you have joined - so many of us are fighting the weight problem, so you are not alone, but if you use the thermomix wisely and don't go too crazy on all the delicious fattening (and irresistible) dishes you will find that you will slowly develop your own range of healthy recipes - this is me talking after just making a batch of Rara's Cherry Bites!!!
I also have several heavily laden pear trees in my back yard so will be looking forward to any pear recipes. We may find that one of the moderators will move the pear recipes elsewhere - will have to keep my eyes open for that.

Welcome Nannie Jannie. Hopefully this site will/has inspired you to use your TMX more. I have the utmost sympathy for your daughter, I know exactly how she feels.
Hopefully lots more pear recipes will be found for you. If you go to desserts and type in 'pears' lots of recipes will appear for you to try. You could try the same thing for cakes and other sections. I only tried desserts.

hi and welcome, i have something very yummy and simple with pears, its not a tmx recipe, but thought you may like it anyway.
pear and blue cheese toast.
you simple lightly grill one side of bread, then turn over and lay on sliced pears, a little blue cheese, then place under grill again. serve with cranberry sauce!
i used to be a chalet girl in austria, and would serve these as an entre for my guests, i would never tell them what it was until they had tasted them, and when told it was blue cheese lots would say, 'oh, i dont normally like blue cheese, but these are really yummy"
you have just given me an idea for lunch tomorrow as i have 1 pear sitting in the fruit bowl needing to be used!
your daughter will find the tmx a godsend when time comes to make babyfood!
enjoy :)
