Title: Cooking for Kinder
Post by: dede on April 14, 2011, 11:12:30 am
My wonderful 4 year old son kept telling his Kinder teachers that I do lots of cooking at home so today I was asked if I could help out next week with cooking some biscuits with his class for Easter but the catch is I will have to do it without the Thermomix. (Oh No) I don't know if I can lol.
Oh well should be fun anyway. I do love my Thermomix helping me though.

That's a bit of a bummer Dede that you can't take the TM. :o Years ago I use to help weekly with my son's class with cookery lessons, quite a challenge when the teacher said she didn't want just cake making. The lesson they enjoyed the most was bread making. ;)

I took my thermomix to school last week!  We made dough for pizza and melted the copha for Easter nests in it.

Perhaps you could take it. Check with the teacher. It will be something new for the children. Just think of all the gorgeous pictures of the TMX (and you) they will draw and paint.

lol. Now that sounds like a great idea. Maybe I could take it with me. All the kids will go home and tell their parents about the Thermomix as well. The teacher said I could bring it if I wanted too. I just wasn't sure if I should or not. Will make the preparation alot quicker. Although the kids couldn't help with controlling the TM but they could with measuring ingredients into it and rolling out the dough, cutting out shapes and decorating as well I guess.

Perhaps ask the teacher what she/he wants them to get out of the experience?  Although it is a pain for the helper, the kids really enjoy the measuring with cups and spoons, cutting, stirring etc.  I haven't taken my TM into my classroom yet for that reason.  :)
