I started off with the idea of making this (http://www.recipecommunity.com.au/recipes/10989/best-ever-gravy.html) recipe from RC but by the time I finished with it, it was a little different but oh so tasty ;)
Obviously my version only works if you are cooking a roast.
1 large tomato, cut in half & seasoned with S & P
1 red onion, quartered
2 cloves garlic, unpeeled
a good knob of butter - 30-35g
35g plain flour
350g chicken stock, beef stock or vegie stock depending on what you are cooking
1 tspn Dijon mustard
good splash of cream
S & P to taste
Chopped parsley (optional)
Place the tomato, onion and garlic into the roasting pan along with your joint of meat. Spray or drizzle with olive oil.
Cook for at least 1/2 hour until they have some colour and have softened.
Remove these items from the roasting pan to make the gravy whilst your meal finishes cooking and before you start to steam any additional vegies you may need to go with the meal. Remove the cloves of garlic from their skin. Place the 3 ingredients into the TM bowl and add a good knob of butter.
Chop for 5 seconds/speed 5.
Saute 2 mins/100o/speed 1.
Add 35g plain flour and saute 1 min/100o/speed 1.
Add stock and cook for 8 mins/100o/speed 3.
Add cream & mustard & cook 1 min/100o/speed 3.
Add S & P to taste and parsley if using.

Made this tonight as we were having roast and loved it. Only two of us for tea so I froze the rest for another day. Nice to make something other than Gravox gravy. Thanks for the recipe.

This does sound delicious. But, does anyone have a recipe for gravy if you are not making a roast? Like tonight, we often roast the ready-rolled turkey and so can't really roast vegies with it as there aren't any meat juices.

Oh I could of used this recipe yesterday when I ran out of gravy, had to send DH to the shops to get some. I will save this for next time.
