Hi guys,
I have recently purchased a TM31 and it is amazing. Both my partner and I love cooking in it.
We have already made:
Pumpkin soup (best ever! and in only 30mins)
Hot Custard (no preservatives :D)
Pasta e Fagioli (different but filling)
Sticky Date with Sauce (easy!)
Mash Potato (the best with cheese)
Violet Crumble Cheese Cake (so rich)
Midori Splice (plus other cocktails)
Chicken & Mushroom Risotto (so easy & creamy)
Orange Chocolate Sorbet (didnt have enough ice)
Hot Chocolates & Lattes (yum yum)
Profriteroles (partner made these and were amazing!)
I think this is everything so far...
Only had it two weeks and both myself and my partner work full time. I got a few ideas and recipes off the forums already. What cook books would anyone reccomend?
-
Sounds like you are getting the full benefit of having a TM. They are brilliant aren't they.
I can recommend the 'My Way of Cooking' TM recipe book. But to be honest most of the recipes I try are from this forum. I think it is the fact that I can read peoples comments and recommendations which then gives me the confidence to try these recipes. I don't like waste so I figure if lots of people recommend it and it looks and sounds like something my family would eat then I will give it a go.

Hi Gen Y, welcome to the forum. It certainly was full steam ahead for you and your partner, you are going great guns. I have to agree with dede re recipes - the forum takes some beating. I also like the My Way of Cooking, pictures are nice to show you what it should look like, Meat on the Menu is pretty good and if you are into Indian, then you must have the Indian Cookbook. I am a recipe book gatherer but don't do an awful lot out of them because of all the wonderful recipes on the forum. If your pumpkin soup was good, have you tried Chelsea's Curried Pumpkin & Lentil soup (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4860.15) - it is the best!!

Hi and welcome to the forum Gen Y.You certainly have been busy cooking in your new TM.I agree with Dede and Judy, you can't beat the forum for tried and tested recipes. ;)

Welcome GenY - You have been busy, you'll never look back now! The best books with pictures are the 3 'BIG' books Full steam Ahead (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2925.0), My Way of Cooking (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2612.75) and Traveling with Thermomix (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5248.0)
And don't forget to vote for your state (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=395.0). ;)

Welcome GenY. Great to read you are going so well with your TMX. I'm also addicted to buying cookbooks but like JD take most recipes from the forum as they are tried and tested/tweaked. Happy cooking (and cocktail making ;))
-
Like most others here I stick mostly to TMX cookbooks. Be sure to check the forum for hints/tips & tweaks before cooking though as quite often you will find lots of useful information. Many a time I have checked after cooking and found if only I'd taken the time first, that the outcome would have been very different. It's not often that you can't find a review on the TMX recipes. If you can't, feel free to post your own for the rest of us. Happy TMXing. ;D

I am never going to buy another cookbook again ;) - unless its TM, or a community compiled one ie. produced by a school, or club etc
-
Welcome to the forum.

Hi Gen Y and welcome to the forum. You have certainly been busy discovering the benefits of TMX as your kitchenhand - like you I could be labelled a cookbook collector. I would like to follow CP's lead and never buy another cookbook again but that is a huge call from such an addict!!!!!!!
-
Welcome Gen Y.
CP63 will you really be able to keep to not buying cookbooks?
-
I really have way too many, so I am going to try. Maybe if I really want one I could ask for one for either my birthday or Chrissy, but really why I get sucked in at the bookstore I don't know as I can find literally millions of recipes on the web ???
-
I HEAR WHAT YOU ARE SAYING CP - perhaps there is a support group out there for people such as us!!!!!!!!!! :D :D
-
Have to admit I still buy Women's Weekly cookbooks when I see them on sale, love the recipes and often easy to convert at least bits if them!!! Good luck GenY, have fun and impress your friends!!
