Post by: Halex on June 23, 2011, 09:23:37 am
Does anyone know if the thermodynamic server Minus base and lid can go in the oven?

I thinknit would be great for meat pies, lasagnas etc,

???  I've put the Thermoserver in the oven before plenty of times, but not on extremely high heat. What's in it that makes it so dangerous?

JD, that post is talking about putting the Thermoserver on the stove top, which would cause a problem as it's direct heat. The oven shouldn't hurt it at a lowish temperature.

Well, you wouldn't think so MJ but mine doesn't go anywhere near heat anymore. They are too hard to get our hands on so we need to keep them in good condition  ;) ;)

That's true! They do need to be looked after!! I guess, treat it like you would a thermos.

Although it may be safe in the oven, I'm not sure it would work as a cooking pan since it is insulated. It would be like putting a thermos in a pot of water to cook soup. At least that's what I thought when I was going to give it a go on the stove top.
