Post by: Amanda on February 07, 2009, 05:48:27 am
Tips/Hints:The recipe for this says to use lamb racks, but I just used Frenched cutlets which I marinaded overnight and will cook on the bbq this afternoon.

Lamb Marinade

Number of People: 4

Ingredients:
20gm flat parsley leaves and stalks
30gm Mint
30 gm Coriander leaves and stalks
4 cloves Garlic, peeled
15gm fresh ginger, peeled
3 chillies, seeded
1/2tsp salt
50ml lemon juice
60 ml soy sauce
 120 ml canola oil
 3 tbs honey
2 tbs red wine vinegar
4 tbs water

Preparation:Whizz

Tips/Hints I took this recipe from "Ottolenghi - The Cookbook" and I reduced the chillies for the children!

These chops were lovely after bbq-ing, but not quite the knock-out that I expected them to be.  Ottolenghi's food is brilliant and so I guess that I expected a bit more than nice!  Maybe I shouldn't have cut down on the chilli?

For the English palette (sorry Caroline, pete etc) they may well have been more than brilliant.  But your "bar" may have been set a bit higher, in terms of the Aussies' use of Asian ingredients.  Have you made many other dishes from his book yet ?

Sure there are some Hazels who have picked up lice from school,  but not sure that I would want them in my food.  ;D ;D ;D

You gave me that recipe "off air" - yes, it sounded absolutely superb.   :-*

Well, I love it, but I collect cookbooks and there's not many that I wouldn't have!! ::)
It is a bit pricey so i got it from The Book Depository.
