Title: Kachumber - Fast and Easy Indian Cooking p. 136

Refreshing salad to go with chick pea curry.  I made double batch, my tweak is using red onion and adding coriander leaves.  None left, so a good sign  :D

It's like salsa which goes really nice with Indian curry.

How did you get yours to stay so chunky, Denzelmum?  Mine was somewhat more whizzed, even though it was only a few secs in the bowl.  Perhaps the fact that I added in an apple made our version somewhat more coleslaw-like in consistency.

Because of the name (and the consistency), this dish was a cause for mirth at the family table, but it was found to be unexpectedly zingy, and the bed of lettuce as suggested in the recipe book added to its appeal.

Will definitely try it again and maybe if the name rolls off my tongue a bit more easily in future there will be less teasing.

4/5

It's a been a while... but I made double batch and didn't change chopping time.  I also have a big chunk to throw to the bowl.

Thanks for the advice.  I will try it again.
