Title: Orange or Jaffa Icecream
Post by: cookie1 on October 09, 2011, 07:33:13 am
Orange or Jaffa Icecream:
Makes about 1 litre:
Ingredients:
2 oranges
100g sugar
125ml fresh orange juice
250ml cream
250ml milk (I used hi-lo)
pinch salt
jaffas

Preparation:
If you are using jaffas blitz them in the TMX to required size and set aside.
Remove zest from oranges and place in bowl. Add sugar. 5 seconds, speed 8
Add the orange juice. Speed 6 30 seconds
Blend in salt, milk and cream.
Chill for at least 1 hour and then freeze  in icecream machine.
Add blitzed jaffas in the last few minutes of freezing.

Tips/Hints:
I also added 1 tablespoon cointreau.
This recipe without the jaffas could be done using lemons too.

Thanks for the recipe cookie1.  We have plenty of oranges at the moment.  Have you tried using Limoncello with your lemon ice-cream?
