Quickly sneaking a look at my precious forum (my guilty pleasure). Just had an afternoon snooze to catch up from the midnight flight, DH still sleeping. Meeting my kids at 5.30 for cocktails.
last year we took our 3+1(DS lovely girlfriend) to Singapore to celebrate my Dearest H 50th. My turn this year hence our trip here now. A very short but decadent visit arrived this morning and home Tuesday evening. But hopefully one filled with special memories. We are staying at the Shangri la Rasa Ria and hubby and I are in "snobsville" (we call it!) kids in the garden wing. My Dh and I spent a week celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary here and wanted to share it with our babies.
I know its not TMX talk but I do love hearing everyone else's stories hence me sharing this one.
We have just returned from a dream trip to the UK and paris but feel the need to squeeze a couple of OS trips in as have been approved to be Foster parents commencing on my 50th birthday and they may be limited somewhat after that. we have been approved for 0-5 year old (our choice) I feel the need to give something back as have had a blessed existence.
Anyway that is my story hope not too boring and off the track. have a jam placed itinerary for our few days thanks to my wonderful family. Will get back when I can.

Lovely to hear from you Denise. You are wonderful becoming foster parents, you will have a little one to bring along to get togethers. Enjoy your break and I'm sure it is lovely sharing it with the girls. :-* :-*

Your holiday sounds very special, and you'll have lots of fond memories especially when the littlie arrives. Where will the foster child be coming from?
Anyway, have fun for the rest of your holiday Denise :-*

A lovely story Denise and getting some holidays in is not a silly idea. You are going to be engrossed in nurturing your foster child's development very soon. It is no mean feat at your age when life is usually becoming less hectic and I admire you for your commitment to start all over again. Can't wait to see photos and hear all about the little one coming into your lives. Enjoy the rest of your time over there.

How lovely enjoy your special time.
Life will be busy being foster parents.
We are regstered foster carers, we had a special needs boy for 2 years, then did respite and having a break for a while. Its very rewarding, hardwork but such a joy to see the child develop.
Who are you regstered with?

Thanks everyone, arrived back last night and would recommend the Shangri la rasa ria to anyone. Plenty to do and all 6 of us had a fantastic time. Hally we are with WANSLEA, wish I could have made the Perth get together so we could have met, any advice appreciated.

Nice to have you back Denise.
-
Thanks Judy, I miss the Thermo Family.

We are registered with Mercy Care, so pleased to hear you are not a DCP carer.
WANSLEA. It s more short term or emdrgency care, in fact our little fella came from a WANSLEA carer.
You wull love being foster carers, just remember most children in foster care are not like our own kids, they dont usually come from a happy, stable background.
It is very rewarding.

Yes, Have been to the training. My 'baby' is 17 and hoping to get into teaching at murdoch next year, my other daughter is 20 and in 3rd year of K-7 teaching, so feel we have plenty to give in our family. We have applied for 0-5 and have been approved for special needs also. I dont paticularly want to do respite or very short term but will see who comes along.

Good luck Bedlam and enjoy what's left of your precious break while you can!
