I'm at home waiting for delivery. Sad to say that I have traded in my old Thermomix to get the new one but when the lid cracked I thought it was time to get a new machine. I've had my old one for over 25 years and it was still going strong and last used yesterday!
My question is this, what shall I cook for my first meal tonight? Not pasta please, we had that last night! I'm thinking risotto maybe .. can anyone offer a suggestion to christen my new machine?

Howdy, nice to see another Brit :)
I'd vote that you first meal is Chicken In Yoghurt (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=26.0) with Naan bread (http://tenina.com/2008/06/na-na-naan/)
25 years is very impressive for machine life (at least compared to the dispossible world we now live in)

Thanks tarasis, sounds lovely
Only thing I don't have is the chillies. How hot is this dish, please?

What a pity you couldn't keep the old one Mangetout - gosh that one served you well.
This prawn risotto (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=7006.0) is very popular, we love it.

Not particularly hot at all (neither my wife or I like hot food) and personally we leave the chillies out. It just has a lovely taste.

I thought long and hard about whether to keep it, judydawn, and decided I'd probably not use it once I'd got the new one. I'm still torn, I've had it for so long it's like an old friend. It's packed up in the hallway, if I hear it saying 'let me out' then I won't let it go! ;D

Thank you, tarasis. That's a definite possibililty then.

Prawn risotto sounds delicious too. That's tomorrow sorted too, then!

So Kate, what did you end up cooking for your first meal in the TMX 31?
And how does it compare to your now retired machine?
-
tarasis, I'm ashamed to say we went to the pub! The machine arrived quite late and I so I just made some custard to have with pud. The weekend will be the first time I use it properly but I love it already. It's so much more sophisticated than the old machine. I shall be busy with it this weekend I'm sure. I'll let you know what I cook.
Oh, I forgot. I cooked my porridge in it this morning.
