Hi everyone!
I am going to be the proud owner of a TM in about 10mins ;D
I'm so excited that there is such an excellent on-line community of TM users as I'm sure you'll be of great help to me. I've been an active member of another well known recipe site and it feels kind of strange to be on another forum ???
Am SOOOOOO excited about owning a TM - my lovely hubby has bought it for me and is looking forward to the meals/baking etc that it can do. I love cooking and baking and know that it'll make my life so much easier and fun to boot!!!!
Anwyay, enough of my babbling - look forward to chatting from time to time and gaining some much needed advice - I must admit that I'm a little in awe of the TM and worried that my first few attempts to cook anything will be a failure - hopefully I'll be proven wrong. ;D

Yes, finally got it!!!!! Demonstrator didn't make anything with me ???
I've made a replacement chocolate recipe from the veg cookbook I got as December's bonus gift.
Vegetable stock concentrate
Yoghurt Chicken - from this forum ;D Just tasted it - DIVINE
About to cook the rice and the naan bread from this forum.
I'm sure I'll be up all night!!!!!! ;D

WOW!! :D No grass under YOUR feet, Tam!! Who needed the demonstrator??!! ;) What a whirlwind effort!! But a bit surprised he/she didn't even make the veg stock with you. Methinks thou hast almost thy "newbie" status!!!! ;D

Tam welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have already given ur thermomix a workout. It is a fantastic tool to have.

GO GIRL, good on you, don't forget to freeze some fruit and try the fruity dream...Made some for my brothers family a few days ago they were gob smacked that I made this ice-cream in front of them..Banana, Mango and Peach. YUM.

Welcome to the forum Tam, you are off to a great start in spite of the fact you had no delivery demo. No stopping you now.

Thanks everyone for your very warm welcome!!!!!
Well, needless to say, my family were VERY well fed last night. ;D We loved it all.
I have a question though.........I'll ask in another section too - cooking the rice with the aroma function on speed 5 resulted in the MC popping out all the time and there was also quite a bit of water spitting out - is this normal?????? I actually turned the speed to 4 - not sure it this did anything. Lovely rice though!
-
it happens to me 2 Tam what i do is trun down heat to 100 some times to 90 and lower speed
or just pop the varoma tray top instend of the MS cup
i hope this helps a little ;D
-
It is normal Tam, especially if you use the full quantity of rice. 100g rice serves 3 people so I usually cook 150g, have some for the freezer and have no trouble with bubbling over with this quantity. I think the max I cook these days is 300g.
-
Thank you ladies!
I made porridge this morning - without the heat!!! :( One for the bin.
Also, hubby is complaining how loud it is...........he can't remember it being this loud at the demo - I don't mind the noise but he hates it >:(
Oh well, we can't have it all, can we!!!
-
Buy some ear plugs for DH for xmas ;D
-
He is not alone there Tam, my DH hates it as well but he knows how much pleasure the TMX gives me that he dare not complain too much. Just give your DH warning when you are about to blitz ice or something so that he can clear out of the kitchen ;D

Welcome to the forum. Have fun with your thermomix.
