Title: Not so patiently waiting in Geelong
Post by: Soph77 on December 18, 2011, 12:09:50 am
Hi - My name is Sophie and I'm in Geelong. I ordered my thermomix last week and I'm desperately hoping it comes before Christmas. We head off camping on boxing day and I'm hoping to take along the thermomix :)
I've been stalking this forum for a few weeks now, have bookmarked so many recipes I think I need to start printing them out! I've just cleaned out the pantry and have started stocking up on items I might need.
Patience has never been my strong point!

Hi Sophie - I DO trust you receive it in time.

I was TOTALLY impatient in getting mine - over 2 years & 3 months ago now.

All the best & Happy Christmas

Cathryn

P.S.  Would TOTALLY appreciate a Vote & Share for my Christmas Menu Idea as the winner receives a THERMOMIX, hehe -  - closes 21 December & I've only just entered, WAY behind the competition, but, nevertheless I'll still try!  I have a dear friend who's going through a really rough patch & she simply loves cooking, and is totally envious of my Thermomix & the help it gives me in the kitchen.  Thought it would be a great idea for me to act as a Secret Santa!  THANKS & here's the link: http://www.facebook.com/krcastlemaine?sk=app_293696650653351 (http://www.facebook.com/krcastlemaine?sk=app_293696650653351)

Thanks for the welcom cgale and fundj. Fundj - no specific date for arrival, was just told that it should be here before Christmas. I will call again tomorrow though and see if she can give me a day. I also want to order a bag and a few other bits and pieces. Already decided I think butter chicken will be our first dinner in it. It has to be something that will impress hubbie!

Dear Soph77,  I understand your impatience.  Your poor consultant can't do anything about it.  Just forget about Thermomix for the time being and it will all happen as soon as humanly possible.  I was the same, but good things come to those who wait, as the saying goes.  Thermomix is more than GOOD - it's AWESOMEand you have one.  Lucky you!

Hi Soph77, welcome to the forum.  I do hope the TMX can be delivered before Christmas but be prepared for a disappointment if it isn't.  Which butter chicken recipe are you planning to do - I take it you have seen the one from the Indian cookbook here  (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=5295.0) and will be doing that one?  It is much better than the one in the EDC which comes with the TMX.

Welcome Sophie, waiting is the hard part but it does give you time to get some recipes together and read up on the tweaks posted at the forum. I was so impatient I made some of the recipes in my food processor while waiting for delivery.

Ahhhh heaven....yes my thermomix has arrived! THe kids and I made some orange sorbet which was quickly demolished and I've just made the tikka paste so I can make butter chicken tomorrow night. I think I'm in love! Such a shame I'm working all day tomorrow.
Anyway thank you for your welcome and I'm looking forward to 'getting to know' you guys more as I explore this thermomix adventure :)

That tikka paste lasts for MONTHS and is fab - use it as a marinade, use it for butter chicken ....

My boys LOVE the Thermomix and most of that which it produces :)

Its really elevated my cooking to another level - I've even attempted puff pastry :)

Well I feel almost guilty saying this but it was FANTASTIC!  Next I'm going to give criossants a go.

I adapted the method from Lorraine Pascale's book "Baking Made Easy"  I'm afraid I'm a real cook book addict (although I'm slowly moving towards electronic media for my books - FAR easier to sneak into the house that way :) ) but I really like her writing, she makes it seem so easy.

I've linked the recipe for you here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/puff_pastry_22280

Honestly, follow those instructions and you will wonder what the fuss was about :)
