I thought I'd share this Christmas Rum Ball tree idea with those who might be interested. I didn't have a TMX at the time however you can use any rum ball recipe or truffle recipe for that matter to make this for Christmas.
It's my first time posting a photo so I hope it works.

It doesn't seem to work in preview and i don't know how to do it.

I think I've worked out what I did wrong. So here's the second attempt.

Also excuse all the background mess etc. I was making it while interstate.

That looks great, Tasty, well done. I bet it tasted wonderful.

Great idea Tasty - an edible Christmas tree. How are they attached. I do a lolly tree (toffees) and stick a pin through the end of the wrapper but yours intrigues me.

i love it Tasty , i think i will get my DIL to try this. to even and small for me :-))

I love this idea, might be something to keep the kids occupied today. I too would love to know how you held it all together :)

Cullidh - It did taste good actually and people were picking at it at a Christmas lunch before sweets were served up! I personally would like to figure out how to make it more moist.
Everyone else hehe - I made it by buying a polystyrene cone/Christmas tree shape from Spotlight. They come in at least 2 sizes. For that picture, I also wrapped it in alfoil. You make it by inserting toothpicks into the cone. Although it may look simple, it can be quite fiddly to get it looking good. You need smaller balls for the top and it can be tricky to hide the toothpick from poking through towards the top.
Anyone has a recipe for a moist truffle or rum ball that will also stay together for something like this?

These (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=2379.0) are lovely, but don't like it when it's hot. They're best kept in the fridge so probably not the best for your tree.

Thanks Cookie. They sound great but can i leave out the powdered milk?
-
Yes, but I think you would need to add more of something else. How about more coconut? I keep it to a minimum as the family don't like it. Just put the powdered milk amount in using coconut.

Yum, I make rum balls all the time.
