Title: Grate potatoes?
Post by: courton on January 02, 2012, 10:26:48 am
There's a lovely bill granger recipe for potato and feta fritters. Would love to grate potatoes in the TMX rather than by hand. Can it be done?

Not if you want real grated potato Courton.  If you chop potato chunks for a couple of seconds on speed 5 you will get finely chopped potato which may do the job (I'd squeeze the liquid out though).  Have a practise with a potato to see if you are happy with the end result. I'd only do 1 potato for 1 second at a time.

Thank you . Shall try one potato and see if it works!

I reckon the TMX would be fine for grating potatoes for something like hash browns. If you look at commercial hash browns, the potato bits are more 'rounded'.

I tried "grating" potato's for zucchini and potato fritters and it turned out just fine, still rinsed the potato and squeezed out excess moisture.
