Our little Braun coffee grinder has died and am looking for a small grinder to grind a small amount of spice ...fine not coarse. Don't think TMX does this well. What are your suggestions as to a good one. Do you have one you would recommend?

Courton me too - would love a little spice grinder. Have you found any? I might ask at the indian shop. As soon as I got my TMX I imagined the possibilities of a mini TMX for spices, little bits of lemon rind & parmesan.

No luck so far. The bodum one is not supposed to be very good for the fine grind. Still looking

This blog (http://www.spicelines.com/2006/08/tools_of_the_trade_we_test_a_f_1.htm) reviewed only 3 but Krups seems the best for a cheap one.
Edit - sorry blog from 2006! I'm behind the times yet again.

I saw a couple on sale in an email newsletter from Your Depot. I think one was Cuisinart and the other Kitchenaid if my memory is right. Will try and find them for you. :)

I could buy a Krups (http://www.amazon.com/Krups-203-42-Electric-Grinder-Stainless-Steel/dp/B00004SPEU/ref=lh_ni_t) on amazon.com for $30 inc postage to Aust. Does anyone buy overseas appliances, if I have a travel adapter would that work perfectly for a small appliance such as this?
I know there is a shopping thread but we almost need a whole shopping section for questions etc about the wide array of kitchen appliances.

Vivaroo, have just breville coffee and spice grinder for $39 from Kmart. Will let you know in the next few days about its performance. BTW, thierry homemaker brand was $12!!!! Didn't want to risk it inspite of the ridiculously low price.

You should check that the appliance is rated for 110-240 volts (most are these days) and if so you can use a normal travel adaptor. Alternatively if you know an electrician they can just swap the plug over for you. It's not a big job at all. Quite often you can even find someone who is a bit tech savvy with computers and IT will do it for you also.
