JulieO's review from another thread, December 10, 2011
I made the Slow cooked pork with chilli early today to have tonight. Just having a little taste, it's so delicious. I liked the flavour without the balsamic so didn't end up adding at the end, also I only added 1 tbs brown sugar and used 2 dried chillies. Definitely a keeper!
See picture below.

We've had this using beef as DD doesn't eat pork. It is lovely. Lots of flavour.

Cooked the Slow Cooked Pork Chilli tonight. It's divine, I love the cinnamon in the recipe, it enhances the other flavours. When I read the recipe I didn't read "pork scotch fillet" and bought "pork fillet" .(We don't have that cut of meat here in the UK and when I googled it I realized we call it collar or sparerib chops) So I reduced the cooking time to 15 minutes, adding the kidney beans, vinegar and herbs in the last 5 minutes.

Cookie what cut of beef did you use?
Thanks
H :)

I made this tonight but only had chilli flakes. I only used 1/2 tsp as kids were going to eat it too. DS7 said I'm not eating that( no surprise there) so he had noodles! DS12 sniffed it and turned his nose up at it. I told him I'll put him a small amount but I want him to try it! Well he asked for more!! DSnearly15 ate it but wasn't overly keen on it. I probably would have liked it with more chilli than I put in but then the kids prob wouldn't eat it. Next time I will use pork fillet as I felt the scotch fillet had a bit too much fat through it and my kids hate fat! I liked it but not my favourite. Will make again though.

This was easy and delicous. I really like the spices. I accidentally only bought 500g of pork, so used double the kidney beans. Will become a regular work night dish. Thanks, Tenina

Wonderful! I only had 400g Pork Scotch, so I reduced everything by half except the kidney beans.
You can really taste the pork. I used coriander to flavour.
I started making this for tea and we ended up with visitors who didn't leave until 9.30. We had cooked some yabbies, so we all sat around in our shed cooking and eating yabbies, so DH didn't want tea. I had leftover Prawn & Corn Gumbo and will have the Chilli tomorrow night for tea.
It was easy to finish off when I finally got back to it.

We had this tonight with some rice with peas and corn. DH went back for seconds. Definitely will make again. I used pork steaks which had very little fat on.
I used two of the large green chillies including seeds. Just spicy enough for us.
YUM!

I have made this twice. The meat tastes very nice but there is a huge amount of sauce produced, and I'm not really sure how to cut things back so that it cooks properly but is not so sloppy at the end.

Just serve the meat with a slotted spoon Cecilia then pour over the amount of sauce you like. Store the rest in the freezer as a back up gravy when needed in a hurry.
