I'm not sure if this has been asked before but what is an alternative to heilala vanilla bean paste...I want to make teninas' banana choc chip icecream.
-
Just regular vanilla extract will do the same job tasty :)
-
Or you can buy vanilla paste in the supermarkets near vanilla essence and extract.
-
Thanks lee. I'll be using that tonight.
Cookie - i didn't ever notice vanilla paste at the shops. Will look out for it next time.
-
It's very expensive Tasty, roughly $10 for a 65g jar.

How did the icecream go. I want to m ake it for lunch next week for guests.
-
Cookie - I forgot to put the bananas in the freezer to allow them enough time to freeze so it was runny last night. So I put it in the freezer and have just taken it out now to test.
It's ok but not really my flavour. I don't know if it's the fact that I don't have real maple syrup because I found the same thing with the salted caramel icecream I tried but others seem to like.
-
I'll have to give it a try when we run out of icecream.

Using the other brands is a little like driving a hyundai after being chauffeur driven in a mercedes…a completely different experience. There are over 20 vanilla beans in a jar of Heilala vanilla bean paste and only 6 pods in you know who’s jar…
So choose your champagne…the real deal or just bubbles!
Just sayin’!
