My lot are going down like flies her at the moment. First DS 16 had 3 days off work last week with a flu bug. today I had a call from the school to pick up DS 14 as he was sick. Then DD 8 come home with a sore throat and temp after school. then would you believe it DD 12 is now sick.
DS 5 is ok but he is playing on the fact that he dosnt want to go to school tomorrow if everyone else is going to be home.
I am definitely not feeling 100% either but I'm ok.
Oh the fun of germs flying about everywhere. Joy :)
-
Oh Dede time to make chicken soup
H :)
-
Yes was thinking soup would be a good idea, goes down easier with sore throats and can add heaps of veggies in to give them a boost.
-
Rush trip to Ballarat to look after sick GS. Dede, hope you are OK as someone has to look after them.
-
I hope so too Chookie. Luckily I'm a tough old bird ;D
There goes my nice quiet day tomorrow. :(

BH&G ?

Better Homes & Gardens Dede. You will find it in the drinks section. I'm on the iPad at the moment and haven't learnt links yet. Every winter this one comes in handy.

We have a honey factory here in Perth that has a huge variety of different honeys. Maybe I should go down there and buy up big ;D

DS7 came home early from Boys Brigade last Friday night with an upset tummy and looking really pale.. 3 kids in his class went home vomitting on Thursday and more home Monday with the same as DS. Lots of bugs flying around.
Mandi, Look after yourself. Snuggle up with a good book or movie and relax.

And Judy when did you get an iPad? I missed that one.
Thank goodness you have your leg back though Mandi, hope you all recover very quickly.
You didn't miss anything Mandi, I hadn't mentioned it yet. I've had the iPad a few weeks now, gifted by a very dear friend who stepped up to the iPad 3. Lucky girl aren't I? Note I have not asked any questions yet, trying to figure it all out with the help of Mr Google, a bit of fiddling and some advice from SIL when he was down last weekend. I know I only have to ask on here or pm a forum friend to get more answers but one step at a time is just fine by me. Slowly, slowly is the way I am going with it. When I get time I will read everything that has been written on this forum about iPads but at the moment I am happy to be able to do the little I am managing ie access the forum and send & receive emails on it. DH even picks it up to play the games I have downloaded for him and I have my word games for when I have a minute or two to spare, usually very late at night in bed.
-
Well I'm glad to know that I didn't miss it. You will get there Judy, new technology takes a little while to get used to. I remember when I first got my iPhone and I got a phone call, I had no idea how to answer it :)
-
Judy, when you work out how to link on the iPad would you please teach me?
-
what are you cooking today (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=320.0)
-
??? :-))
-
Sorry fundj, just working out how to link urls, think I have worked it out. Just got to explain it.
-
I still have so much to learn with the ipad. We have just downloaded solitaire. Oh what a wonderful time waster and 7 little words, it is a wonder I manage to put food on the table.
I do hope everyone gets well very quickly. DD had 2 weeks off work and should have had more. When she went back to work one of her friends said 'hello, you need another lot of antibiotics' and promptly wrote the script for her after checking if her chest was still yuk. She tells me he was young and gorgeous too. :D That is her 3rd lot and she still has a really nasty cough.
She's going to Melbourne to a conference next week, hope they don't throw her out for coughing. She is very disappointed as she had been invited to tour the Peter Macallum hospital ???? and has to decline because of this nasty bug.
So my best wishes dede and everyone else and their children who aren't well. :-* :-*

here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=320.0)
Ok I think I got it, (find your link first and copy the URL)
When replying to a post and you want to add a link on your iPad just go to advanced settings, click on url link
Now delete the http thingy
Paste in your URL you want to add.
Add to your reply. You will see the URL come up
Now delete the first ] and add a =
Now go to the [ at the end of the link and add a ] in front of it. Now add what ever words you want between these brackets ] Here (or what ever[
And it should work.
This is hard to explain sorry :)
-
here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=320.0)
. . dede?? is this a "virus" ?? ;D
-
Are you just teaching yourself to do links mandi? OK, you seem to have it down pat, now can you give us an idea, step by step for dummies.
-
No it's not a virus, just trying to work out links
Did the other Link work?
-
http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=320.0 (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=320.0)
This is what the link looks like before adding the brackets and = in
I hope I hasn't confused you all too much :)
Actually it looks a bit different before you press send
It has a [URL = at the beginning and a [/URL] at the end
Oh no I am confusing my self ;D
-
Sorry, that all went over my head. I can't even see a url link at the top of my forum page on the iPad so that's what had me scratching my head - how can you copy something that isn't even there. It is so easy on the PC. (well, once you know how of course).
-
Ok I forgot to mention that this is using tapatalk app.
I got the link from going through google, I don't know if you can get a link from tapatalk to copy.
-
Ok Judy if you using tapatalk you can copy the link from the browser in the tapatalk app.
Find the link you want to copy, hold your finger down on the title of the link and you should get an option to copy or open. Click on copy.
Now go back to topics and post where ever it is you want to post in and add the link
Then you should be able to go to advanced settings, URL Link, delete http thingy and past your link that you previously copied.
Then do the other steps I mentioned before.
This is so hard to explain without actually trying to show someone in person. :)
-
Looks like I have to download tapatalk then - have not got around to doing that yet. Thanks Mandi.
-
Ginger & Vitamin C Boost Juice (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=3142.0) is another good slurp
-
Well I have 4 miserable children, laying around moaning and sleeping. Sore throats , head aches, temps. Good fun. Soup is all made, bread rolls on the rise, and banana bread done. It's a cold wet miserable day here today but nice and warm inside with the fire going.
Hope this doesn't last to long
-
OMG, Dede, how on earth can an old chook cope with this? google changed the format on my Blog and I hid from it for a week. Then I gave myself a good talking to and had a go at posting a recipe.. It took me half a day but I finally got there. This linking is hard for me and very kind Judy keeps an eye on me and often fills in the gaps. thank you Judy.
Dede, hope your family soon recover, and you also.
-
Hi dede
Sorry to hear that the children are not well. I hope you can stay well to look after them.
I find that having a strong oregano tea with a little honey, sipping it slowly, is very good for a sore throat. :)
-
So many home remedies are so useful.. Thanks everyone.
-
Not heard of that one desi. Fresh or dried oregano?
-
Hi JD
Dried oregano that can be used like black tea :)
-
Thanks Desi, a friend of mine has just posted me some dried oregano - only thing is I don't have a sore throat :D
-
Hello again JD
If you google oregano properties you will find a lot of info about the herb and its different uses. :)
-
Thanks desi, I will do that.
-
Good you don't have a sore throat.
Its been very cold in tassie and many people are getting sore throats. Good thing I grow our own .
I should say good night now as it is past midnight. :)
