Thanks so much for the welcome. I've already tried out a custard recipe from here (with a few modifications to make it a caramel custard) & am doing some steamed vege & mashed potato for dinner. All great so far, although I can see it's going to take a bit of experimenting to get used to this style of cooking.
And yes...me & my Kitchenaid are one of those long-term till-death-do-we-part things. My husband would be jealous if it didn't mean he got cake on a regular basis.
