Introduce Yourself / Re: Newbie online

Thanks for the warm welcome!  No, unfortunately I do not have two bowls (yet) although would come in handy many times over as often have to think what to do first, dry to wet then realise still need to grind something.  Made a wonderful new sourdough bread today, kneaded in thermo - an 'energy loaf' with sunflower seed flour, flax, youghurt, dates, spelt - yummy!  Had it with one of my eggs for tea after late evening on the beach.

My girls are 13 1/2 and twins are 10 1/2.  3 girls all in three years kept me off the streets thats for sure....

I have made some jam in the thermomix; strawberry last year, but made seville marmalade the 'old way' over winter.

Hot weather here making us think of late trips to the beach, going to try to cook dinner in the morning tomorrow.

Hi everyone!

I have had my thermo for 3yrs but completely new to the online forum idea..always seem to lose passwords etc.  Hopefully I can stay on this one!!

I am always on the lookout for new ways to expand my use of the thermo and make life simpler and healthier.  I have enjoyed using online blogs and facebook to expand my ideas lately.  Due to busyness there are some obvious gaps in what I have tried - for example I made risotto just the other day for the first time and then couldn't believe it had taken me three years to do this!!!

My journey with the thermomix has taken some twists n turns - I have quite fussy twin girls, and an older girl who had an eating disorder/OCD for the two years after I bought thermo.  For two years she ate the thermo dahl every night, carefully weighed before eating.  In fact everything was weighed using the thermo scales, except when things became so bad we needed a scale that give 1gram instead of 5!!  Aaaah.  Luckily this has passed.  During that time the thermo went to Adelaide twice on holiday and to New Zealand as well.  It was the only way we could leave home.  She is still largely vego although now including chicken and fish.  Enough of that.

Since then I have started making sourdough bread and do all the kneading via thermo.  I have warmed countless bottles for goat kids and orphan calves.  The twins love the spag bol.  I have been sprouting and making 'green drinks' - great not to have to throw any residue away.  Upteen sorbets, custards, muffin mixes, cake mixes on and on.  Most nights I have to serve two different dinners in our house so always looking for shortcuts!

I am a keen gardener and have an orchard just coming into production with stonefruit and berries etc yum

I would love to hear and share ideas!
