something else that you might like to think about.... When your small person is about 5, the vintage port for the year they were born will be released.  My first was born in 86 so in 1991 I bought 6 bottles of port (mainly from Victoria and SA), laid it down in the cellar and bought the first bottle out for the 21st - divine! and there is no way I could have bought it in 2007.... She gave her dad a bottle for his 50th birthday and we still have 4 bottles left - wedding, birth of the first grandchild,  purchase of first TM!!...

Hey, I have only been a member of this forum for a week and I am excited for you Caroline!  Although we have never met - wish you all the best.  This is the first time I have joined a chat group, and I am glad that I have joined this one!  I kept a diary with my first baby - kept it for more than three years, and gave it to my daughter for her 21st birthday present.  I hope that you enjoy the next months and the joy that your small person will eventually bring you and your family.  :)

Chit Chat / Re: When buying 'whole' foods - plastic bag question

Hi, I don't know if you are in NSW, but if you are, Lincraft sell calico bags for 99c and they are fabulous.  I buy 10  at a time, they can be bleached, thrown in the wash and are really strong.  I sew but couldn't be bothered at this price. I use them at the supermarket, fruit and veg shop, chemist, variety store etc.  I can roll them up and keep two or three in my handbag (and several in the car) I know what you mean about plastic, these are a great option for me.  ;)

Cakes / Quick & Easy Scones

Hello, my first recipe based on "4 Ingredients" by Rachel and Kim.  These ladies are amazing, I have the book on my phone, so don't have their surnames.  Check them on the web - www.4ingredients.com.au.

Had drop in visitors so had to make do with what was in the pantry.

3.5 cups self raising flour
250ml tetra pack of thickened cream (the real recipe calls for 330ml of cream but uses 4.5 cups of flour so it seemed to work)
300ml bottle of lemonade

Flour, cream and lemonade into the TM bowl and mix for about 1 minute on interval speed, then put onto a floured surface, roll out to about 3 cm thinkness and cut with a scone cutter. Place close together on a paper lined baking tray and bake in 220 degree preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes.  Makes about 10 or 12

It was quick and easy - still loving my baby!

Introduce Yourself / Love my new baby

Hello, have had my machine for a week an am in love.  Experimenting with food like never before and actually enjoy thinking about what we will have for dinner! Have given away the rice cooker and bread maker but am not sure if I could lose the stick blender - will let you know.  Cooked the Morocan Lamb last night from this site - did adjust at the end, but thrilled with the results.  My youngest daughter (17 going on 32) actually goes back for seconds more often than not! Look forward to sharing ideas and suggestions with people who obviously are thrilled with this machine.
