I know this is an old post, but Honest to Goodness has Cacao wafers. I buy them in 5kgs bags, they do have smaller sizes. They are cheaper if you get wholesale, but I am in a co-op, so we can get wholesale prices. For wholesale the orders have to be $500 or more. I think I get 5kgs for about $116 - ish. They do have the chunks as well, but they are way too hard to cut up. Honest to Goodness do deliver along the east coast of Australia, I think! Don't quote me on that, but you can always ask. The website is: https://www.goodness.com.au/I just looked and retail for 5kgs is $157.45

My consultant did a demo for our P&C meeting. She did sorbet, Chinese style stir fry vegetables (EDC p92), muffins and something else. Can't remember what, it was some months back. But muffins wouldn't work for you if you have no oven.
But our P&C thought it was so good and that's how we were able to get a thermomix for our canteen. We use it so much in there, the school kids are loving all the things we make.

Thanks for the recipe link Sonan. We'll certainly use that and let you know what the kids think.

We do already have the Chef Laurant's cookbook. Use it heaps! It has the best Aioli mayo recipe. It is divine, I really wish I could post it here, but don't want to breach those copy right laws. I run a high school canteen in Western Sydney, it's P&C run and they were really impressed with the TMX when I got my demonstrator to come to a meeting to show them. I think we have already paid for it in the things we have made. Also our school is 80% non english speaking back-ground, so I'm sometimes surprised at some things the kids suggest we could try on the menu or even things they will eat (drink) ..like the green smoothies. Judydawn... some days we would love to have 2 TMX's. Some of the seniors suggested Lassi's to us, we just have to figure out how to fit all the things in we prepare through the day to be able to have them all ready for lunch at the same time!! I love using the TMX in the canteen, I think every canteen should have at least one.

Hi all, Just thought I'd let you know how wonderful our thermomix is at school. We make our own chicken patties for our chicken burgers, we are still trying to find a really nice chicken ball/nugget recipe, (we tried the one in the EDC but for some reason they are sometimes a little dry, so experimenting some more!) we do muffins, fruity dream, sorbet, and we have started making....... green smoothies!! I started drinking them the end of last year (just google green smoothies...tons of info, but my fav website about them is www.rawfamily.com) So I use to take them to work in a flask and teachers would ask what I was drinking and when I told them they were a little surprised, so I use to give them a mouthful in a glass to taste. Most of them were impressed. This year one of the teachers asked were we going to be making them so they could buy them? Well, why not we thought!!! So now we do green smoothies to sell at the canteen. We don't just sell them to teachers now though, some of the students have found out that we are making them and asked what was in them etc,and when we tell them how good they are for them, they want to buy them too!! We are so happy to have our thermie in the canteen. We are slowly converting the school to even healthier food than what I introduced when I took over as manager, thanks to the thermie!!

Thanks for the link Frozzie, will definitely check it out. Cookie1, He is pretty good at thinking what we can make with our TMX, of course all the stuff he likes....Mars bars, marshmallow (did that the other day) different ice creams and sorbets. Notice the type of food he likes, but he is skinny as a stick so that is probably why he thinks like that.

The conversation I had with my 15 yr old DS while he was eating some Dulche de Leche (thank you for the recipe by the way...super delicious!!) He'll eat this on pancakes, bread, a spoon, even his finger!!!
DS: Mum, Can you make your own chocolate?
Me: I have seen a recipe for making chocolate on the forum. Depends what you want to make. I could just melt some buttons.
DS: Can you make nougat? The soft type, not the hard type.
Me: I could see if there is a recipe on the forum, or find one and convert it.
DS: So, you can make caramel, if you can make chocolate and nougat, then we can make our own Mars Bars! How cool would that be....we can make them whenever we like and have heaps!!!
As you can tell from our conversation, Mars bars are his favourite treat!!!
So do we have a soft nougat recipe anyone? He is a bit of a food cirtic!! Thanks in advance.

I made these the other day. DH says this is what marshmallow should be like, not the bought ones with the crusty coating that makes them taste 'grainy'. So thank you. He loves marshmallows!! Youngest DS wants to try different flavours. So we'll work on that and get back to you!! But I agree with obbie, they did take a long time to cool down, but yes, everyone loved them. I made 1/2 batch, which still made a lot.

Hi Twitterpated, Glad you were finally able to join the forum. And like you said the people here are a wealth of knowledge, and they have some fantastic recipes nd even ideas that you wouldn't think about making in your TMX. My teenage boys and hubby love our TMX too, but are quite happy for 'Mum' to make things for them to eat. Just like boys!!
