Breakfast / Wholegrain Porridge
« on: September 16, 2009, 11:13:25 pm »
Have made this twice now and it is sooo yum!

150g organic oat groats
650g liquid (your choice of water, milk etc or a mixture)
fruit nuts or seeds of your choice
agave syrup to taste

put the oats into the TM and whiz on speed 8-9 for about 25 seconds. next add whatever add ins you like ie apple (thats whats in ours this morning) nuts seeds etc and turbo them a couple of times so they are roughly chopped. then add your liquid and the agave and put the TM on 100 degrees for 20 mins (being oat groats they do need longer to cook) and on speed 2-3.
thats it. and it made the best porridge i have ever had last time i made it- so creamy and delicious!
you could probably try this with different wholegrains, i havent quite made it to that part of experimentation yet!

Introduce Yourself / Yet another newbie here
« on: September 10, 2009, 04:53:35 am »
hello! im a new thermomix person also- have had mine for a few weeks now, i cant believe how much money i am able to save! i made the potato and leek soup the other night and it was a bit of a disaster- it tasted way way way too salty!! i think the recipe asked for 2TBS of TM stock- which my hubby did, but i had to end up adding another 2 leeks and 6 potatos to make it edible! so if you do that one i would try 2TSP of stock and go from there!!!
have fun!
