Chit Chat / Hampers
« on: November 24, 2015, 02:05:01 am »
Hey everyone
Well it's getting very close to Christmas now and every year I make up hampers for the family. I got the idea from my mum who also dose hampers. Every year we try to brain storm something new to add to the yearly favs.
So every year we make;
Spiced nuts
Salad seeds (all make extra as my BF eats these by the spoon full)
Fudge (flavours tend to vary each year)

I also add dukkah, garlic oil, rocky road and cookie mix jars for the fams with kids.
In the past I've done chai spice, cinnamon sugar and this year caramel hot chic mix.

I would love to hear what sort of things you guys would or maybe do put in hampers for future reference. ;D

Today I have been sewing out owls for a quilt for my bf's sisters new baby girl that's due in a week or so. I went shopping and got almost all the ingredients for a new recipe I want to try to convert 'chicken mole tacos' just need to get the chillies from the market tomorrow. And I made some doggy treats for the furry children. Then posted the recipe on here so as to share the love to all the puppies hehe.
ATM I'm looking up more recipes by the 'sorted' boys on YouTube to see what Else I can't try.

Bacon and peanut doggy biscuits
Wasn't sure under what category to post this. But they are biscuits and a snack in a way so here they are.
Original recipe from the boys from 'sorted' on YouTube.
A simple recipe that the your furry children will love. ;)

125g peanut butter
125g whole meal flour
1tsp baking powder
2 rashes of bacon chopped
15g oats
Around 100ml of milk

Put all ingredients in to  *: speed 3 for around 15-20 seconds or until combined.
Depending on the size of your dog (I have a boarder collie and a staffy) use a spoon to scoop out the desired amount of mix and roll in to a ball I used around a tablespoon size, then flatten them and cook in then oven on 180 degrees C for about 15-20min till lightly browned.

Keep in a air tight container for bout 3weeks.

Tip: you can use creamy or crunchy peanut butter I used crunchy cos it's what I had in the cupboard the original recipe said creamy and that you roll it out and use a cookie cutter. I found that I needed to add more milk to do this with crunchy peanut butter.
