Mesquite Powder This powder is packed with protein, is a high fibre source and is high in magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron and zinc. Due to it's high fibre content, it is therefore able to stabilise blood sugar and because of this, it is beneficial to those who are trying to lose weight and diabetics. If you enjoy smoothies, you will love mesquite powder which can be added to smoothies for extra nutritional value. Mesquite powder is made from the ground up ripe seed pods of the Mesquite Tree and has been used since ancient times as a dietary supplement. It's high fibre content means it takes 4-6 hours to be digested therefore preventing blood sugar peaks and keeps you from feeling hungry for some time. This makes it ideal in weight control as it has a diciplining effect on appetite. It has a sweet molasses/caramel like flavour and is ideal in smoothies and drinks, as well as desserts and as a natural sweetener. You can also use as much as you like. Hi Karen,
I have an Excalibur with 9 trays since 5 years. If I would buy a new one today, I would go for the new Tribest from Sedona: http://www.tribestlife.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=79&idproduct=708 12
