I’m still lurking around this forum, was beginning to think everyone had left. Just upgraded to TM6 and gave the old 31 to our daughter. Finding my way around Cookidoo. Good to see your post.

I have a couple of small oval shaped pyrex casserole dishes that fit beautifully in the Varoma.

Thank you so much Droverjess. I searched for custard, came up with your post and it was made and in a bowl in ten minutes!
I made it exactly as directed, Australian tablespoons are fine, flavour beautiful. This is my custard recipe forever!!

I will have to try your spread Chookie, it sounds delicious. I made one on Boxing Day that tastes very similar to the commercial Devilled Ham Spread.

Just used 250g light cream cheese and 350g of ham.
Roughly cubed cheese and ham and processed for 10-20 seconds on speed 6.

Yummy on toast  :-))

Jeninwa, thanks for the tips re the dehydrator. Tell me, how long will your dried tomatoes keep in the Cryovac bags?

Hi Anitas

Beef Rendang was the first meal I cooked in my Thermie and will definitely do it again. I had some cooked rice in the freezer so I dumped it in the Varoma tray, still frozen, and it steamed while the beef was cooking. The rice was lovely and fluffy. The meal received a big "thumbs-up" from DH.

You people are just the best!

Thanks for all your welcoming replies to my first post. I'm not very experienced at forum discussions but am looking forward to contributing some of our old family favourites once I convert them to TMX.

After browsing the forum I'm not sure that I have enough years left in me to try all these yummy recipes. Looks like I'll be featured in The Biggest Loser in a year or two.

Introduce Yourself / Thermie has a anew lover!
« on: September 07, 2011, 10:27:29 pm »
Hi everyone.

Received my Thermie two days ago and am in love already. DH and I went out for lunch
yesterday and I resented having to leave my new love to eat someone else's cooking  :-))

We live in a little village about 45km from Tamworth in NSW, run a few sheep, a few goats
and a couple of head of cattle (all headed for the Thermie in due time).
