thanks for your input...i was always going to have the demo and am REALLY looking forward to it as I know my guest will be really amazed with what the machine can do. I absolutely love mine. Just wanted to check that I was on the right track. I heard about the commission from a "retired" consultant (the one that sold me my thermomix)...perhaps things have changed.
I will ask the consultant for the recipe cards too. I was hoping to get another bowl at a reduced price, but maybe this offer is expired.
I'm having about 10 eager guests and look forward to seeing there amazement...the consultant has promised me that it is a fantastic demo...although Im still not fully aware of the dishes she will be cooking.....I'll wait and see...
Once again thanks for you responses its made things clearer for me. Cheers

hi - it seems a few of you are consultants. I would like to ask a question about the demo's. Im having a varoma demo soon (I do have a thermomix) and the consultant has asked me to supply EVERY item needed for the demo. I have estimated this will cost me about $40-$50! Is this normal?...when I went to my original demo the host only supplied a few item (perishables). I questioned my consultant and she said that I should have most of the items in my pantry already (I dont know how she thinks they got there in the first place!!) At this stage I have 3 guests that are definately going to purchase a machine after the demo..I've heard the consultant will make about $400 commission from each sale. I have not heard about any host gifts etc...My question is - what do/should I get out of this demo??

HERES THE RECIPE I HAVE CONVERTED AND JUST PULLED OUT OF THE OVEN - DEVINE!!! - WHO KNEW IT WOULD BE SO EASY TO CONVERT!!!

I have used the recipe from the back of "wallaby" brand unbleached bakers flour (avail at Coles and Woolies)

BAKERS FLOUR               500gm
BAKING POWDER              20gm
MILK POWDER                  10gm
SALT                                5gm
CANOLA OIL                     15gm
WATER                          310gm

PUT ALL DRY INGREDIENTS INTO THE TM BOWL AND MIX FOR 5-7 SECS ON SPEED 2-3 OR UNTIL JUST COMBINED.

ADD WATER AND OIL (BEST TO ADD OIL TO WATER FIRST AND THEN POUR INTO TM BOWL)

SET DIAL TO CLOSED LID POSITION *:. KNEAD THE DOUGH FOR 1 MIN AND 30 SECONDS ON INTERVAL SPEED ::
.
LEAVE THE DOUGH PEICE WHOLE, OR CUT INTO SMALLER PIECES AND MOULD. DUST WITH FLOUR AND THEN BAKE FOR 20MINS FOR WHOLE DOUGH SIZE, SMALLER PIECES LESS TIME, AT 210 CELLSIUS   (CONVENTIONAL OVEN)

EAT HOT FROM THE OVEN COVERED WITH TREACLE, GOLDEN SYRUP OR TM BUTTER!!! ENJOY

i WOULD LOVE FEEDBACK AS THIS IS   THE FIRST RECIPE I HAVE POSTED  ;D       HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY TO ALL ,AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE OI! OI! OI!

Thanks for responses. I had a go using the traditional ice cream recipe in the EDC and added the mango and macadamia's (crushed) at the last stage. Word of advice for next time - probably puree or finely chopped the mango a bit better. i had chunks of mango throughout the icecream which were a mouthful at times. Other than that it was a big succes and tasted just like those WEISS bars...really creamy - will definatley do it again after I "work off" the last batch!!.....BTW tried the choc mousse - but a major disaster (had no cream of tartar so used baking powder!!) lesson learnt to follow the recipe. Made the choc cake just now and its a hit!!! ;D ;D

hi Guys,

Does anyone in  Thermomix Land - have a recipe for Mango and macadamia nut icre cream?. i would assume I follow the Traditional ice cream recipe from the EDC and add the mango and macadamia's when it says to add the optional extra's, but if anyone has a better tried and tested recipe i would greatly appreciate it. For now I am following the EDC recipe and I'll let you know how I go.

Hi , I'm a "newbie" - so new that I only have one more sleep till I get my Thermomix (here in Rockhampton QLD), thats if I can rely on Australia Post!!. I think i must have read every link and forum there is on Thermomix, but have certainly found this to be the most informative and friendly. Have a shopping list, husband and children ready and waiting. I agree - husbands should go to the demo - I took mine and he thought it was fantastic and said I could have one after the sorbet!!.  I'm off to the Christmas cooking class on Tuesday night.  I have never been interested in cooking - purely because I'm so 'time poor", however, I don't think I've ever been so excited about getting a new kitchen appliance ever ;D ;D. I can't wait to cook like I really should have been doing for years, I'm sure we will all benefit. Lets hope the weight doesn't benefit too much. My demonstrator put on a few Kilo's when she first got hers!!!  Looking forward to adding to the other forum issues when I get some experience.  Till then i'll just keep on reading yours.

Cheers jojo
