Just made the White Bean Soup with dried beans. It's a lovely, thick, creamy soup. Can't get one of my pics small enough to put on here, but check out pics and comments at www.inthemixtricks.comYou'd have to substantially reduce the liquid amount if you were using tinned cannellini beans - but probably keep the same amount of stock concentrate? Now I know what to compare it to, I'll try it with canned beans in the next week or so...

Thanks Cookie and Judydawn - if I can be half as impressive as many of the bloggers that post here regularly, I'll be delighted.
So far I've done the Pomegranate and Beetroot Salad, and the tomato shots. Foolishly I didn't take photos of the tomato shots, but they were really good!! I've had an idea for presentation which I really want to try out before I take the photos - and I didn't have everything I needed at the time!
I have bought the ingredients for about six more recipes this week though!! Now just to find the time (and the spare calories!!)

Hi I got the book about 10 days ago and I LOVE it. I've regularly taken it down from the shelf and drooled over the pages. I had marked about 20 things to try even on my first read through. I'm much more impressed with this than MWOC and FSA!! Lots more things that appeal to me as well. And... I've undertaken a project... I'm cooking EVERY SINGLE ONE of the recipes over the next little while... so if you're interested in my progress and the tips and tricks I discover...have a look at www.inthemixtricks.com - I'd love your feedback! Hi everyone, I wonder if you might be able to help me - while I try and help you! I've bought "In The Mix" and it looks amazing. With a bit of spare time up my sleeve I'm going to - in the style of Julie and Julia - make each one of the recipes over the next while. I'll be blogging about my experiences - tips, tricks and feedback on the recipes - and as a new blogger I would love your feedback on what I've written and if it helps you. Hi,
I'm in Melbourne and got Pomegranate Molasses at Leo's Supermarket in Kew. I think I paid under $10 for a bottle of 300ml - just can't find the receipt. Leo's also have shops in Heidelberg and Hartwell. Got the rosewater there as well. Apparently lots of the Middle Eastern grocers in Brunswick Street/Sydney Road sell it as well. When I mentioned it to my sister yesterday she thought that the greengrocer next to the supermarket at Doncaster Shoppingtown had it as well - at the back of the shop.
I bought the book last week and can't wait to try everything. Looks amazing.
I made the salad tonight and it was a complete winner. Loved it. It's on my list for high rotation salads now!! I made the main part a few hours before serving and stored it in the fridge, adding the pistachios and the pomegranate seeds just before I served it.

Hi Sammidog,
Just tried passionflowers Polenta recipe using 300g. I am making it to go with an osso bucco, so I was thinking something with a mashed potato consistency.
The 300g is still a little thick for me, so next time I think I'll try it with maybe 260g or so and see how I go.
It's delicious though... even my 3 year old son is getting into it!!

Have made it several times now and it has worked without fail every single time. I've turned mine out and added half a teaspoon more gelatine and they have turned out perfectly after putting them in hot water for about 20 seconds. I've only done vanilla using vanilla bean paste and it's been a hit every time!

I was a lurker here for a while too before my not so subtle hints about getting a thermomix were heard! It would be fabulous for a small kitchen... I've said since I had mine that if I had known about TM when we were redoing our kitchen at our holiday shack that I wouldn't have bothered with a stove and just bought another TM!! As it is, I bring it with me when we go there now, I really can't live without it.
I was interested in food before, but since I got my TM home, I've become far more adventurous in my cooking, and... well, I actually cook now rather than just drool over recipes!!
Good luck - - - I bet you'll have your own thermobaby before you know it!!

No problem MeganJane! I googled about gelatine leaves and there are so many in different strengths it's all a bit of a puzzle... That would sound about right, as the 4 made it a bit like a rubber bullet!! The flavour was great though, just too chewy!!

I made this yesterday and it tasted great - but it was really, really rubbery - so much so I couldn't eat it.
What strength gelatine leaves did you use? Maybe mine were too strong!
