Cakes / Re: Caramel, date and banana loaf
« on: July 16, 2010, 08:55:07 am »
Just popped one in the oven.  Always have so many bananas!  I made sure I gave my baking tin a sharp rap on the bench to make sure I didn't get any air pockets!
Thanks for the recipe.

These sound good - I have been on a mission to reduce our sugar intake.  I will give these a go for lunch boxes this week.  Cheers! ;)

Thank you everyone.  I was thinking of doing this but might just whack them in the micro - no time to clean Thermie to that extent before work. ;)

Tips and Tricks / Getting out the last little bits!
« on: May 31, 2010, 12:50:47 am »
I have been milling quite a few things - my own LSA, baking powder, vanilla sugar etc.  To get the fine stuff around the base and blades I have been softly rubbing with an artists paint brush that I keep in the kitchen (never seen paint).  It gets an amazing amount off the base - 2 or 3 teaspoons.  I hate waste!

Recipe Requests / Re: LSA

Hi Everyone,
I was very excited to make my own LSA last night - it was one of the things that had immediately jumped to mind when I saw Thermie for the first time.
Thanks for the guidelines.

Hi Chelsey,
I tried the Butter Chicken recipe from the EDC and it is delicious.  Make sure you have nan bread to serve with it cause you won't wnat to waste any sauce.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hello, New Thermie Owner
« on: May 22, 2010, 12:50:08 pm »
Thank you for the great suggestions everyone!  I feel so welcome!
I went in and picked up my EDC and then went straight to the shops for ingredients.  I ended up making hummous, the chocolate/almond torte and more butter.  I am really enjoying it.
Can't wait to try some more of the suggestions.  I've already made the vegie stock - which is awesome - no nasty numbers in our soup from now on.

Introduce Yourself / Hello, New Thermie Owner
« on: May 22, 2010, 03:09:36 am »
Hi Everyone,
My Thermie arrived on Tuesday and I have been cooking up a storm.  :D I love it!  I have been taking the TM book with me to work and writing shopping lists in my breaks to pick up ingredients on my way home.  I realised last night I left it at work - doh -so I am going to have to go in and wrangle security to retrieve it!  But it's my first weekend with Thermie - so I can't not have it!  Any good recipe suggestions for someone new to Thermomix?
