News about Thermomix / Re: TM5« on: October 18, 2014, 10:42:03 am »
Ended up ordering Tm5 on 13/10 after being told there is a 6-8 week wait. I have been without for over a month and am sorely missing it already so I can't wait to get mine.
It was a very good marketing strategy not revealing the new price until everyone rushed out and bought Tm 5s at promotional price thinking its gonna skyrocket! Can't wait to have a play with my new tmx! 4

After seeing the pav, am curious what creaming sugar and butter is like in tm5? Could never get it right in tm31

News about Thermomix / Re: USA Thermomix« on: September 26, 2014, 12:56:30 pm »What do you mean exactly? I have just left America and owned a thermomix there. Bought it brand new. Warranty and all. Sold it for more than i paid!! They do not sell in US. Only Canada. If you have owned a thermomix before then you most definitely can own a thermomix now in US. Are you in east or west coast? None of my American friends knew of thermomix. They were all SHOCKED at the price. It is safe to say that there is NO WAY an American would pay that much money for an appliance. I can only see it being popular in San Francisco, New York where space is limited in apartments and thermomix can replace all appliances. And even then the measurements will have to be changed and price come way way down! 6

Stacelee - robot cook??? I was intrigued and googled it & saw these huge robots cooking in restaurants in china!
I hate to say it but I think I will stay away from the happy customer page....I've always told everyone who asks about the machine how much I love it but I am less than impressed with the selling model and my interactions with HQ have never been overly positive. I'm in the fortunate position that I now have access to a couple of other machines, one of which is a truly commercial machine and that is the way that I'm currently swinging. I've given my Thermochef to my sister and hopefully will be able to play with the new Robot Cook shortly after Fine Food. If I don't decide to go that way, I might go the HMP Gastro......my inner geek is still lusting after the touchscreen and the recipe chip but I know that I would use the larger capacity and higher temperature etc more than I would step by step instructions! If my TM31 is ever unrepairable, I would probably get another one because I do love it....but I would probably look second hand because I really don't want to give HQ any more of my hard earned money.....but the touchscreen is so pretty 7

I was able to buy it from Canada because I was a previous thermomix owner in Aus. The left over warranty is being transferred over to the new owner. I was very surprised because inAus they told me it's not transferable! What is going on Australia?? I checked this situation with UK Head Office yesterday because I was under the impression that the warranty couldn't be transferred. I was wrong and certainly in the UK any warranty left to run is transferred to the new owner. 8

Thanks cookie! We are moving back to Melb. Just sold our tmx in US. Will be back there in Oct. Will definitely let you know if I decide to go for HMP instead of the tmx.
Just want to say my HMP has never given me any grief, neither has my TM31. 9

Agree with thenorthern. No matter when they announce it, someone will get upset. It's business. Things like this always happen.
there will always be some who will prefer tm31 to tm5 and will pay for it. I personally am not a fan of the touch screen. The HMP had such bad reviews due to the computer defects! A big reason why I bought tmx instead of HMP when we moved to US. I hope they hv really really tested it out! None of the new functions are wowing me. What would have really made me jump is if they had made EVERYTHING in stainless steel. I hate cooking in plastic! Oh and if cooking could be done without blades moving (bottom not burnt) 11
Main Dishes / Re: Nico Moretti's Thai Chilli Chicken and Basil« on: May 30, 2014, 03:15:29 am »
Made this for dinner tonight. 22 month old DD inhaled a huge bowl and then asked for more! I actually cooked some macaroni and powered some sauce and chicken over it.
Used 1 small birds eye de seeded and after taking some out for DD, I added 3 more in the thermoserver. Was really yum! I didn't thicken it as we like lots of sauce. Next time I think I will double the sweet chili, fish oil and Kicap manis to balance the more saucy dish. But DH and I both had seconds too! 12

What a great idea! Perfect for DD's snack!
We have these rolls once a fortnight. DD loves the mushroom ones. Actually made some tonight with leftover mince and chicken sausage! 15
Chit Chat / Re: Varoma, how often do you use it & what do you make?« on: January 02, 2014, 07:56:38 pm »
Achookwoman - this might sound stupid but what's the difference steaming rice in varoma as opposed to cooking in basket?
