Thanks Cathy. After last nights dinner I've been thinking of doing just! I have 4 TMX books now and there are so many recipes I want to try but I'm reluctant to. At this point I should admit my husbands is a really fussy eater  :( and trying to find food that he will eat and enjoy is hard, especially if I want my kids to eat it too (DD4 and DD1)!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated  :)

Basically he only eats chicken (breast only) or beef. Loves garlic, onion and chilli - and lots of it. We eat a lot of curries and just got the Indian cookbook 2 nights ago so I'll be trying out a few recipes on the weekend.

He doesn't like fresh herbs at all, but especially hates fresh coriander and dill. And now I know that he hates cardamom too ;-)

Not a big fan of creamy stuff, we tend to substitute cream for a lesser quantity of yoghurt or sour light cream. And he's not a big fan of pasta. I think he would like the fettucine salami dish if I served it up, but he's a bit fat concious at the moment so would probably be upset about the fat in the meat. Sometimes, like last night I end up chucking a tante and telling him he can cook his own bloody dinner from now on.... but he only cooks steak!

Thanks!

Hi. I am not getting much use from my varoma because I think my husband will balk at the lack of 'crunch' on his meat. i've thought about sealing in the char-grill pan and then using the varoma to finish off instead of the oven. Has anyone tried this?

mmm. I made this last night and it did not go down well. I make a similar curry with coconut milk but without the cardomom, celery or cabbage which is very nice. I think I'll stick to that next time I'd give it a 2/5 my hubby gave it a resounding thumbs down!

I am getting very frustrated that the recipes I am making from the books are not well received because I love my Bimby (her name is Rosie!) and I want to use her ALL the time. At the moment my hubby sees her going in the evening and just groans! I think a lot of the recipes need serious attention and will make sure I check out any reviews where possible for tweaks before! trying them out from now on!

So far my hubby has only liked the beef stroganoff and the beef bolognaise (ragu).

Men!

Edit - oops. sorry thermomixer!!!

Hi everyone. I've made this twice and love the flavours and the kick from the cayenne pepper. I used good quality diced steak from the butcher the first time and it was tender as. Second time used thinly sliced topside and it was tough as boots, hubby made himself eggs! I chucked it a slow oven for a few hours and froze it for lunches for me but haven't ventured to try it yet  :-\

I have a fussy 4 year old too who wouldn't eat this becuse it was too hot. I think next time I do it I'll leave the cayenne out, serve hers up then pop it in for ours for 10 minutes or so to develop the flavour. Like the idea of adding more meat and maybe chuck in some potatoes. Like the idea of slow cooking so that you can use cheaper meat.

Did the skirt really work out nice and tender???

Thanks cookie! I will certainly be doing a lot of looking in here. I love my machine (had it nearly 2 months) and want to get some more use out of it! Sarah

Hi all. I made this about a week ago and absolutely loved it!! I chucked in a large parsnip which probably made it a little sweeter (devine). I was a bit worried about the bone clunking on my blades so I took them out and popped them in the varoma. Worked great. Thanks Judy, this will be a fast favourite of mine (although my girls aged 4 and 1 were not impressed!). Sarah
