Afternoon everyone. Am a long standing member of this group but not posted in a very long while so I thought it prudent to reintroduce myself I'm Nicola, mum to three boys (and married to a fourth  I've had a Thermomix for around 8 years now and was an active demonstrator when the TM5 was launched so managed to earn that. I no longer operate as a demonstrator but am still a committed TM user (I'd buy a second if I could). Right now I'm waiting for DHL to deliver the new Taste of India recipe chip and book. I can't wait to try out those recipes. Nik P.S. My username is derived from my children's names - William Isaac and Noah! Its not from some uber competitive spirit I have

If you can get hold of the cook-key from another country you can use it to access all your recipes on your own cookidoo platform in the language of the country your machine is registered in. I'm not sure that makes sense but if I buy a cook-key from France I can use it in the UK to access all my recipes, in English, on the UK Cookidoo platform.

I got my book on Friday .... really love it. Have given it to DS2 who is the fussiest of my boys and he's requested Brown rice pancakes for a breakfast this week - although he'd like me to hold the blueberry syrup  Baby steps Nik xx

I'd never made a souffle before - they're so scary but these were a snap to make, very easy and very delicious. They were also quite salty and very rich.
I can see them being very good for DS1 who is approaching his teen years. As mentioned before (I hope I don't bore you with it all) he's autistic and ADHD. His eating is very erratic so if he decides he's going to be spending the evening eating through the cupboards I want it to be high calorie, high protein, high fat rather than a b**ody sandwich or some cereal. Can you store souffle mixture - I can't see the whole family enjoying them but that's more an indictment on their fussiness than the recipe.

Sorry, I feel like I'm spamming the forum tonight with my recipe reviews but I have been a very busy chick with my TM5.
This is a lovely mix of raw beetroot, carrots etc. Absolutely delicious and ready in almost an instant.

I'm ashamed to say this was my first introduction to Thermomix chopped salads and at a customers house during a demonstration too.
I loved it (although I'm alone in the house on eating salads) and although I can't eat raw broccoli usually - I have no problem with this. I really need to up my vegetable intake and eat more healthily generally and this little baby helps a lot.
I am utterly adoring my TM5

I'm a currently serving Thermomix advisor (based in Hampshire) and I can confirm that the price for the 2 bowl package for the TM5 is £1084 - the same as the price was for the TM31.
I'm expecting my machine in the next day or so (or even today - squeeee). Certainly here in the UK the launch was on Friday at 7pm, a lot of those at the launch and the Saturday training got theirs on Monday - or maybe that was just team leaders, with advisors that were there getting theirs on Tuesday.
I'm waiting with bated breath for mine!

I'm a demonstrator (now advisor) in the UK and I can promise you that, on the ground, demonstrators knew nothing about the new product until Friday evening. As far as I'm aware the product was launched globally at the same time. I would bet my life that team leaders new in advance but I dare say it wasn't too long a lead time. For operational reasons they would have to have known in order to hit the ground running to support their team. I spoke with a customer today that bought her machine in August and she's a little disappointed but reasonably pragmatic as the UK were offering a really great deal during August which she really wouldn't have got with a TM5. I certainly haven't seen the backlash in the UK that seems to be happening in Australia. We're not offering an introductory price on the TM5 here in the UK tho so perhaps that makes a difference. I'm hoping my machine comes tomorrow. I've only seen one briefly. Can't wait  Nik x

Apparently in Canada the new TM5 has been announced but is not available in North America until
2015. This then gives customer a chance to consider their options. Why isn't the same happening in Australia?
I guess its a decision that has been taken by the distributor. Here in the UK, Thermomix used to be distributed by an independent distributor but its now been taken over by Vorwerk. That's the same as in the rest of Europe as far as I'm aware but I don't know the situation in Australia. Someone further up the thread mentioned that some demonstrators had been named and shamed for selling TM31 with a new model so close and, I gotta say, that makes me really, really uncomfortable. Its very unlikely that they did know unless they were consultant demonstrators (and I'm only guessing that they knew in advance so they could prepare to support their team) and you can't expect a consultant demonstrator to tell a customer something that she can't share with her own team. Lots of technology items have releases that are shrouded in secrecy, I think that what has caused the upset with Thermomix is that new models are released so rarely whereas new iphones (for example) are released quite regularly. I've been lurking here all day (you know my attendance is flaky here). When I saw the news yesterday I wasn't at all taken with the new model. It looked bigger, bulkier and not very in keeping with the modern kitchen. The chip thing looked like a stupid gimmick blah blah.
After sleeping overnight and seeing mostly positive feedback on the interweb I started to come round and then I saw the chip thing in action on a video - guided recipes - and I could see how useful it could be. I've got a gf that's desperate for a Thermomix but is terrified of cooking. As a result most things she cooks are a not great. She will LOVE the guided cooking feature. I've got 3 boys and the two oldest can now cook an evening meal with very little supervision from me. They're both autistic but the Thermomix minimise the handling of hot water etc.
I don't get to see it in action until Monday and I still don't know the UK demonstrators incentives to buy/earn.

Made this for the pizza scrolls. Dead easy and really lovely but the best is the sweet version with lemonade. I love scones but darn it they go stale quickly but the lemonade (and probably all the additives) give them a much longer shelf life than my usual scones

I've made this several times now, we love it here. Its great as a (runny) jam but I prefer to use it as a compote. I use it in plain yoghurts and I've substituted cherries and mixed fruit to make similar compotes with the ratios.

Thanks Judy, I'll add this to my list of things to try. Got to get my food bill down which means cheaper cuts of meat, less waste and meals in the freezer for those nights when only something already made will do!
