Hi Bex,
welcome to the forum! I'm a newbie too so still on a big learning curve. This forum is sooooo good & everyone is so helpful!
I made rissotto & got some food stuck on the bottom. I put some water in the bowl, them heated it up to 100 & about spped one. Let it cool abit & then it came off fairly easily with the brush. Hope you can get it off without too much hassle. Enjoy your demo!

Thankyou for all your hints. I am not going to be beaten on this!!! Will definitely try the blending fruit first & then stir through. That should work much better.  :) And good to know about the whey in smoothies. Haven't made any of them yet! So much to try, so little time!!! :'(

Chit Chat / Any tips on making yogurt?
« on: November 20, 2010, 05:42:40 am »
Has anyone made the yogurt? I tried the TMX recipe but it went too watery. Was I supposed to drain the clear liquid off once it was set? (Am thinking I was!!!)
Then made some using the easyo yogurt maker which made it fine until I put in some frozen fruit & blended it through the TMX. It went very runny & hasn't thickened at all!
Any hints??

Chit Chat / Re: How many doz eggs do you use in a week?
« on: November 20, 2010, 05:39:46 am »
Ahh yes the little chickens are growing by the day, Roxy! They are very cute!!
Not sure how many eggs we use in a week but definitley depends on how much cooking I do. I had too much stuff in the freezer when I got my thermie so haven't been able to have a really big cookup!!! (2 of us don't eat enough!) Will need to before christmas though.
I get a variety of coloured eggs too, mostly brown with a few blueish ones. Have cross bred a few of the chooks so some of the eggs are a real green/brown/blue! Thankfully the inside is the normal yellow coloured yoke! Have had a couple of friends not want the blue eggs....funny!!

Welcome Trish. I'm in Kojonup so a bit further south but it is warm today! Have got a sister up your way in Mindarie.
Am just enjoying a sorbet that I made using kiwi friut & banana. Probably put a bit much ice in but still yummy!!! Hope you are enjoying playing with your new toy!

Hi Nicky,
I can so relate to your excitement. I hope it arrives today!
Great stuff that DH is so keen too!! Sounds like you could have lots of fun together.
My consultant was going to have my tmx posted to me so I could get it sooner than her delivering it but she actually ended up picking it up from Perth for me & gave me the demo when she dropped it out here, so that was good. Hopefully you'll get your one on one demo soon. Just gives a bit more confidence when using it!
Happy cooking!!!
I like Creampuffs suggestion!!! Wish I could get my DH interested!! ;)

Thankyou for the warm welcomes!

Cookie, I'm farming in Kojonup which is 3 hours sth of Perth towards Albany. A lovely part of the country, although no rain here much this year which is most unusual.

Made the roulade of spinach for tea tonight. Have put a review on the recipe review section.
Thanx for the heads up on those cakes Roxy. Will have to try them soon.

Roulade of Spinach from GFCB
I made this tonight.....yes i like a challenge!! I think there is way too much oil as I had oil everywhere when I turned it out onto the damp teatowel. The recipe said 200g....I wonder if it should've read 20g? Anyway, next time I will put a heap less in it & see if there is much difference. It cooked well & rolled well but I got a bit impatient so unrolled it too soon while it was still a bit hot & it broke up a bit. Will know for next time.
Was a little bland tasting even though I added a touch of curry powder & parsley to the cream filling. Maybe some lemon pepper seasoning....it needs something else anyway so will have to play with that one.
All up I would rate it about 3 as it was fairly straight forward to make, just needs those tweaks applied. Served it up with a fresh tossed salad. Would be very impressive for a dinner party if we could improve the flavour!
Would love to hear from anyone else who has made it. (did do a search but nothing came up)

I made this last week & was a little uncertain thinking it might have been abit sweet but DH said he loved it! I cooked the rice seperate in the microwave & then steamed some vegies in the varoma. Still have a lot to learn about the varoma as I haven't had my demo yet. But you have to try these things!! From memory I pretty much stuck to the recipe & will certainly cook the Rendang again.  :)

Introduce Yourself / Hi from WA
« on: November 07, 2010, 12:37:08 pm »
Hi there,
got my new thermie last Sat (week ago). Felt abit frustrated as I haven't had a lot of time for playing last week. This week is looking better. Saying that I have made a few things. That "too easy choc cake'...wow!!! Took some to church for morning tea this morning & got rave reviews about it.
Have got 2 sisters who bought TMXs earlier this year. (hi RoxyS) Only have one sister to convert now. We're all getting together for christmas, here at the farm this year, so could be lots of fun, especially if there are 3 TMXs working (there will be about 25 of us for about 3 days!!)
Love reading what others have been making & seeing the excitement of those waiting for their TMXs to arrive!!!
Looking forward to spending a little time checking out recipes etc.
