we made the char sui pork wraps last night. the marinade was delicious, the dressing was great, but the wraps were a bit stiff and cracked rather than rolled so we decided that next time we would use rice paper rolls instead of the dough and use the dressing as a dipping sauce. sensational flavours though

We LOVED this. for a product that normally sells for $80/kg.... we did a blind tasting with 3 different brands and the in the mix version. the general feeling was that the in the mix version needs more walnuts (double) but otherwise was as good. i tried it with pecans but they didnt have the bitter edge that walnut skins provide so not as good. it was easier to roll with wet hands and i put it in logs of glad wrap then picked it up with both ends and spun it round til it was a nice tight sausage.

i would love to say that i made it up myself and am amazingly talented in the kitchen - but it came from here. i basically made the bread so that i could have a crack at the shape! maybe do it with a softer more pliable dough than the baguette as it may have had slightly dry outers to allow the bottom to sound hollow

loved it, dense chewy bread. i had to cook it for a lot longer because of the different shape

outrageously sweet (not surprising given the 500g sugar and tin of condensed milk!) lovely texture, mine wasn't grainy at all. would definitely be improved by some chopped macadamias. couldn't really taste the chocolate it was so sweet
