Thanks for reopening the thread Judy - I just can't seem to get it right either and my little ones aren't satisfied with the grainy result (bless them!!) so it's back to the supermarket for me too unless someone comes up with a solution.
As with the others, I've tried smaller amounts for longer times but nothing works for me, as you've mentioned before, it's a great result to 'be' in things, but not as an icing on birthday cakes.

Thanks for your replies, I'm just in the proving stage of my 2nd batch of HCB's - and they are still looking a little flat, I used 4tsp of yeast. They are now in the second proving stage and have been for 25 mins and they don't seem to be doubling too well, I'll keep waiting and see what happens.
Achookwoman - how do I find your recipe?

Great recipe. I make one that is similar but mine is more of a sweet relish.
1.5 onions (quartered) 1.5 capsicums (quartered) 1.5 cups white sugar 1.5 cups white vinegar
Place the onion in TM for 3-5 secs on speed 7 then add all other ingredients into TM bowl and pulverise 3 secs speed 7 to get desired size. Then cook 30-40 mins (keep an eye on it) Varoma speed SOFT.
Delicious served with sausages and meats or on sandwiches

Hi everyone, with Easter approaching, I thought I would try my hand at the EDC HCBs...they didn't work out so well. They are a bit heavy. I wish I'd read all your comments first.
I didn't add the peel and I added 20g of dry yeast. The mix rose well in the proving stage but once I had cut, rolled and placed back on the tray again for more rising, they didn't. Any suggestions? Do you roll the mix after the initial proving? or just cut and shape it?
I agree with the others on making less mix for the crosses and the sandwich bag is a great tip, don't forget to cut small first, as you can always make the hole bigger.
Looking forward to your tips.

Hi everyone,
I'm having terrible trouble with my pumpkin risotto. I've just thrown out 1 batch and the 2nd is cooking now. With the first batch, the sweet potato (small, small cubes) just wouldn't cook and I added more wine and stock and increased the cooking time (by almost double in the end) and I cooked it with the MC off...it ended up like glue and had a terribly bitter taste to it.
This batch is doing it's own thing. I have just cooked it for the required 17 mins but this time with the MC on and it was like soup. What am I doing wrong? I can't tell you if the pumpkin is cooked or not as it's still going, but it will have cooked for 30 mins again this time.
Any tips would be great. Thanks

Welcome Tablelander....oh the wait, it just feels so long, but wait til your baby is on your bench and you'll soon forget as you'll be so busy mixing, blending, pureeing, baking, chopping, dicing and of course EATING!!
The first few days can be a bit daunting, start slow but don't be afraid. My only tip is to read the ENTIRE recipe first as some of the steps are not written in the order you need them, so read the recipe in it's entirety and then GO FOR IT!!
Look forward to hearing of your progress.

Thanks everyone.
I'll take your advice on the porridge, but I'm frightened!!
Today I made the TM recipe book chocolate mousse and I am in heaven. I've also just pureed bub's vegies and it took what seemed to be a nanosecond to mush corn, zucchini, carrots, pumpkin and cauliflower all individually of course....now I've got time to put my feet up and relax.....aaahhhh

Thanks for the recipe. I made double the peppermint cream and DH has asked that I don't add the sultanas next time, but definitely this easy to make and very yummy..

Hi,
I just wanted to pop in and say HI. I am a mum to a toddler and a baby, so I'm at all stages of cooking right now. I've had my TM since Christmas and am loving it. I've tried a variety of dishes both in the TM recipe book and some from the web and everything has been great, except for my porridge which was a bit like glue !?!, despite this, my husband says it's paying for itself - phew!!!!
I look forward to sharing the journey with you all.
And Happy New Year
