Drinks / Grape juice recipe - suggestions to improve my 'recipe'
« on: January 24, 2011, 05:59:22 am »
I couldn't find a recipe for grape juice, and I had two bunches of seeded grapes that needed to be used. So this is what I did:

500gr grapes, washed, in TM, for 10 seconds on speed 6
Then cooked them for 10 mins,  :-: at 100 degrees.
I strained the mixture over a fine sieve in the fridge overnight. Today we have delicious grape juice that needs no sweetening. It's a bit cloudy, but I like all the bits in it, otherwise I guess I could have strained it again over muslin/cheese cloth.

Does this all sound OK? Any suggestions to improve it?

Thanks for that, I have three small jars so I'm glad that will fit. Hools, what's different about the CSR jam sugar?

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Chilli mussels

We made the chilli mussels tonic and they were tender enough, but the flavor of the sauce didn.t really permeate the mussels. Anyone else notice the same? I wonder if it would work to 'baste' the mussels with the sauce as they are cooking?

Can anyone tell me how much the quantity is when you make the jam recipe in the EDC book? Thank you!

My grocery bill has already dropped too, 3 weeks since we began using the TM. I had a lot of the basics in the cupboard (because I love to bake) but having three kids under 4, I just haven't had time. So being able to make things SO much quicker now, I've gone back to using just basics, and Coles only got $78.50 from me today  :) (weekly shop). And now the girls get to rollout cookies (i.e play with cookie dough ;)) this afternoon because it took me 2 minutes to whip up.

...guess who got a TM for her birthday/christmas pressie  ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's already had a thorough work out, making baby food, flours, dinner, bread. LOVE IT!!!! Want to make jam and butter today, wish me luck!

I'm looking forward to learning lots from the forum. I've got 3 little kids under four and a hungry husband (who's getting chilli mussels for dinner!) , so watch out.... ;)
