Yummmmm. How long is it safe to keep this? I want to make it as a Christmas present and have all the details on the labels.

Chit Chat / Re: Varoma demo help please!« on: April 28, 2011, 02:01:47 pm »
Sent an email to my consultant before I asked here - I'm a little impatient.
I did ask my consultant when we booked the appt about the guests, but can't remember what she said (insistent child underfoot and not expecting to have to name a date and time there and then). Then life happens and I didn't think about it till I got the reminder email tonight. I'm not really into the tmx system of selling. I think it's better than some I've seen but still, people can't help but feel pressured. I don't like inviting others if they in any way feel that it would help me out because that is the same as 'pressure to buy' as far as I'm concerned. No guests = no rewards is fine by me. I am thinking maybe I should reschedule though to make sure the food doesn't go to waste. Will still be interested in gluten and dairy free options. (Quirky Jo's recipe's have been having a workout here the last few days/weeks.) 4

My varoma demo is next week and I've gone gluten and dairy free since my first demo. Any suggestions for tweaking the menu?
Also - am I supposed to have guests for the demo? The only people I can think of who are available when I'm having it. already have tmxs... Thanks. 5
Recipe Requests / Re: custard made on coconut cream/milkl« on: April 15, 2011, 12:40:17 pm »
oh good. I thought it would work. I think I'll have to use the tinned coconut in the cupboard if I want it to cool overnight. I'll make up the volume with some rice/almond milk if I have enough. uh oh. No eggs left.
New plan - go to shops in morning and make it early. Thanks 6

Has anyone ever made the custard from edc with a coconut flavour?
A coconut cream and milk/milk substitute mix or all coconut cream/milk? What do you think? Thanks in advance. Helen 7

(I'm confused, it looks too good to be true???) Well I probably ( ) wouldn't make it every week... But if you used raw chocolate as well, it would be full of antioxidants, minerals and good fats. I'm from Brisbane btw - I think it was Cookie who asked. 8

Speaking of the coconut butter... just saw this! Ds is asleep or I'd be doing it now.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
Tarosuma - Ah yes primal is what I meant. I get Mark's daily apple's newsletters! Love that site. Have just been looking, not committing to anything yet. Giving up grains as well as the other things I've given up recently is a bit of a big step. Glad to hear it works so well for you. It makes a lot of sense doesn't it. Oh and I've been following a few of the Weston A Price guidelines too. Try to make a stock from bones every week. There was no way I could keep that up over the heat of summer though. Helen 10

Hi there,
I dreamt about a thermomix for about a year before we were able to take the plunge. It arrived on Thursday - a pleasant surprise - I was expecting it tomorrow or the next day. So far I've used it to blend my buckwheat and quinoa pancake mix (that broke two blenders), make a chia and cashew milk, make the chicken, apricot risotto from edc (without the chicken or apricot )... and now I'm drawing a bit of a blank between that first day and today. Today I've made the chicken and cashews dish from quirky cooking (thanks - loved it) and just whizzed up a pineapple and banana smoothie for dh's sweet tooth. Oh yeah! I've made the edc lemon custard, and some chocolate custard too, both on the chia and cashew milk (which is the chia nut milk from Cyndi O'Meara's site.). YUMMMMM. So, about me. I'm a mid 30s mum of a very active two year old and wife to a less active dh. I've recently started living gluten and dairy free. I'm really interested in wholefoods cooking, with a bit of a dabble in raw foods and 'just looking' at paleo foods. Looking forward to lots of recipe and tip sharing. Helen
