Cakes / Re: Lunchbox friendly Muesli bar *NUT and EGG FREE*
« on: November 11, 2012, 03:41:09 am »
Hi

I just made this recipe and it did not disappoint!  I like that this recipe uses seeds for 'crunch' making them perfect for school lunchboxes :)

Given the mix includes peipitas, sunsflower kernels, sesame seeds and cranberries, the colours really 'pop'!!!  I added chia seeds because I love them and used oatbran and GF flour as I prefer to cook wheat free.

Thanks for sharing :)

Kind regards
Karen

Hi

I made a batch of Tenina's Cranberry and Almond Granuesli this morning and the kitchen smells amazing!!! I used vanilla extract rather than paste and it appears to have worked out just fine.  I also blitzed my almonds a little longer than the recipe mainly for the kiddies benefit.

My family enjoy muesli and homemade yoghurt alot...so I know I am on a winner here :-)

It made stacks. I made 1.5 of these glass jars and they stand as tall as the TMX.

Hi Desi...

I am almost 1/2 way through a teaching degree (primary). I love studying, I love applying it to my kiddies, and love the idea of having my own classroom one day...but I struggle with the pull between family and uni.

Just trying to do my best, and will be happy when it is completed.

I have added 2 tsp of catamelised garlic paste to this. Also added, parsley, oregano & basil from the garden

Tossed it through my wok, added all sauce. DEVINE

Serving it with home made fettucini & shaved parmesan on top.

Top Restaurant Quality.

H :)

Halex, I love your interpretation of this recipe...carmelised garlic paste and fresh herbs as an inclusion sounds lovely!

I cooked this for the first time tonight.

The smell in the house while cooking the pasta sauce was really amazing! I loved the flavour and I love the idea of sneaking in so many vegetables. I followed the recipe to the 'T' and personally I enjoyed the inclusion of orange zest and star anise, my kiddos were a little unsure to begin with.

While the meal was a success and all plates clean...I may experiment halving the star anise and orange. All in all a nice 'twist' on a standard family meal. BTW..I would say its the nicest bolognese I have made in my TMX.

welcome to the forum karen F. love the shape of the roll in your blog, how did you do that its perfect ?

Hello Fundj

Sorry I havent replied, I dont have as much time as I would like to look through the various forums I follow and have only just adjusted my notifications to show me if someone has commented.

I actually made the shape when stretching the dough before proofing, then pinched the middle part of the upper heart just before putting in the oven. No fancy bread tins I promise!

The kids loved them in thelr lunchboxes here is a photo!

I hope to try this recipe with spelt flour over the holidays as I try where possible to cook wheat free. Will let you know how it goes :)

Hi

I have owned my TMX for about 12 months now and have a few TMX cookbooks My Way of Cooking and GF/WF to name a couple, and recently (personal b'day pressie) I bought myself a few new TMX cookbooks including In The Mix.

I LOVE In The Mix. I love the photography, paper stock, font (its a beautiful book) but most of all, I really love the recipes. I love that this cookbook has modernised the types of meals I can cook in the Thermomix. I also love that many of the recipes have mini-recipes within and Dani has a lovely and personal way of talking you through such options.

In regards to your customer's request, I think it does present nice options for weekend cooking.  I have 3 young children and hubby and I don't get to go out to dinner as much as we once did. We have spoken about having 'date nights' in and I like that this cookbook gives a range of meals...including a couple of nice restaurant quality ones that I can now make for home.

Another good resource you might be able to direct you customer too would be this blog http://inthemixtricks.com/ lots of great photos and discussion by the blogger as she cooks through the book.

I hope this helps :)
Best wishes
Karen

I have made my family 2 perfect batches of these rolls in 7 days, I can't be sure who loves them more...my husband or my children! Very easy method and perfect results.

I have posted a photo here on a TMX cooking blog I share with a friend.  http://thethermomixdiaries.wordpress.com/2012/09/01/lovin-from-the-oven/

Thank you for sharing :)

I made these cookies today and am really happy with the results.
Quick and easy, lovely taste and something a little different to what I normally whip up.
