Recipe Requests / Re: Parsley
« on: April 09, 2013, 07:01:54 pm »
in reply to Goldfish, i keep it in the fridge, it keeps for simply ages, (weeks & weeks) I think the amount of salt preserves it.  When I first used it with cream cheese, I only added up to half a teaspoon to a half packet of cream cheese to try.  Add as little or as much to suit your taste. It's really moreish!!! Heaped teaspoon to stews etc.  Thanks CC, for adding to Condiments & Sauces section as well.

I use parsley for garlic paste, quite a few of my friends like it as well, they like to remind me when they're getting low on the paste.   I wrote the ingredients down, unfortunately I cannot remember from which site or even when, so if anyone recognises it, thankyou for the recipe.

GARLIC PASTE

75g sea salt
75g herbs (40g parsley,25g chives, 10g basil)
300g garlic (yes 300g cloves, peeled)

Process all into a paste, 1 minute at speed 6.

Add to cream cheese (nice on crackers) or butter.  Stews or literally anything.

Tips and Tricks / Re: SPATULAS IN THE UK
« on: March 15, 2013, 04:23:39 pm »
Hi, With living in the UK I bought a couple of the red spatulas, and they are pliable/flexible.  Although I'm on the internet, I do not order thru it (don't know how to & feel too old to learn).   I phoned to order them & was pleasantly suprised to receive them a couple of days later.

Any further headway re distribution in UK? ???   Had family here recently (and grandchildren, obviously previously coached by parents, asked what would I like Santa to see what he could get for me).  ;D ;D

Does anyone know if a dispatch centre for Teninas' books has been set up in the UK as mentioned in a earlier post? Definitely would like this book as and when available here after reading all the  fantastic posts.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Booked a demonstration!
« on: June 30, 2012, 12:48:44 am »
Hello Lynn, hope you enjoy watching (and sampling) at your demonstration.  I too live by myself (now retired) but would not, could not be wihout my thx now.  The recipes/comments on this forum  greatly influenced me to get the thx a year ago.  Went into a lakeland shop (UK) a couple of weeks back and picked up some tiny brushes.   Called, "Home Spout Brushes" set of 4 for £2.99, catalogue ref 21626, sizes vary up to 1 inch in diameter. Excellent for cleaning between the blades.  You can see them on the Lakeland site.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Hi From The UK
« on: April 21, 2012, 04:09:13 pm »
Hello and welcome, Mistree, from West Yorkshire in the UK. It was reading this forum that made my mind up to get one (even though I was over halfway through my sixties).  I've had my Thermomix nearly a year now and would not be without it. Hope you have lots of fun trying and enjoying some of lovely recipes and tips from this site.

Breakfast / Re: Depome's Eggs en Cocotte with Tomato Sauce
« on: January 23, 2012, 02:00:28 pm »
Just had this for a light lunch for myself.  Really enjoyed and will be on the menu quite often.  Did use a tin of tomatoes so cooked a little while longer to thicken as previously advised.  Was going to freeze surplus sauce in ice cubes tray so I could just take out 2 or 3 cubes  per egg but no room in freezer.  Will use remaining sauce for a pizza or with some pasta and a tablespoon reserved  to go with steamed fish.   Thank you Depome .

Chit Chat / Re: Why not as popular in uk?
« on: December 16, 2011, 09:59:45 am »
I agree, it isn't advertised. I got mine in june, but only because  a friend told me she had seen one being used on, Come Dine with me (Australian version).  I found a repeat of the show & watched  and got the name Thermomix which I then looked up. In turn, it led to this forum which I looked at for three solid weeks before ordering one.  It was delivered just before I went on my demonstration which was held quite a distance away, only found through sat av.  So really it was all you people on this forum with all the advice, recipes etc which convinced me to order.  So big thanks to everyone.
